Strategic Planning & Operations (SP&O) Director, US Marketing, Obesity and Related Conditions
What you will do

In this vital role the Strategic Planning & Operations (SP&O) Director for Amgen’s US marketing team (OaR), is responsible for direct support of the Vice President (VP) of US Marketing OaR, operational support of US Marketing OaR and facilitation and communication across therapeutic areas and cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities include:
Strategic and Operational Support for the VP:
Assist with planning of initial team structure development and build, including candidate selection and interviews
Ensure VP preparedness for key meetings, decisions, & engagements; proactively align with stakeholders, manage follow-up, and develop high-quality executive-level presentations
Communication and facilitation of requests with cross-functional team members within the US Marketing OaR organization
Chair weekly Integrated brand team (IBT) meetings in collaboration with VP
Development of key presentations and preparation for governance body participation, including but not limited to: goal-setting, brand planning, go-to-market updates, budget coordination and financial submissions (LRS, LRP, etc)
Assists with special projects including select cross-functional projects that could include: Overall go-to-market planning; cash-pay models; and external partnerships to support launch excellence
Helps build the culture and community within the larger team
The preferred working location for this role is near Amgen’s U.S. headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA, however we welcome applications from qualified candidates across the United States who wish to work remotely .

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 4 years of commercial experience
OR
Master’s degree and 7 years of commercial experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of commercial experience
Preferred Qualifications:
US commercial experience (ie: marketing and/or sales and/or market access and/or patient support services) at Amgen, ideally on a launch product (preferred but not essential) . Additional ex-US experience not required but would be considered an asset
Additional commercial experience in the consumer goods / health industry would be considered a very strong asset
Positive can-do attitude, quick learner, proactive, takes initiative
Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, active listening, and relationship management skills
Very strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly and effectively present information
Critical thinking, analytical and project management skills
Goal oriented and results driven
Ability to lead and handle projects from concept to completion
Interface effectively with all levels, including senior management
Ability to understand, plan, and navigate in a matrix and, at times, ambiguous environment
Demonstrates creativity and foresight in anticipating and solving complex project issues
Awareness and ability to navigate and conform to Commercialization and Corporate Governance processes

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
