Global Transparency Program Lead

What you will do

In this vital role, the Transparency Senior Manager will provide strategic oversight, operational management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure that global interactions with the Healthcare Community are captured and reported in alignment with Amgen’s corporate values and with all applicable local transparency requirements. The Transparency Senior Manager will ensure the execution of day-to-day operations while strategically guiding long-term program objectives.

  • Strategic Oversight:

Support execution of long-term strategies for the transparency program, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

Coordinate program Leadership Meetings, as needed

  • Program Oversight:

Lead operations of the transparency program, ensuring all activities are executed efficiently and effectively.

Participate in status meetings with PwC to track progress and address any immediate concerns.

Make immediate decisions on program-related issues, using sound judgment to facilitate smooth operations.

Oversee the maintenance of internal transparency documentation, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate.

  • Stakeholder Communication:

Prepare and deliver regular updates and presentations to internal stakeholders, highlighting program achievements and areas for improvement.

Foster a culture of transparency by regularly engaging with business functions across the organization that submit transparency data.

Encourage at least 2 full reviews of annual country transparency data by the appropriate business stakeholders in each country.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Engage with Amgen IT by leading monthly meetings to troubleshoot and resolve data source issues, ensuring continuous data integrity.

Monitor landscape for new types of interactions that may be reportable in one or more jurisdiction; support strategic data capture planning with PwC.

Work closely with legal, compliance, and management teams to interpret and apply new or changes to legislative guidelines.

  • Timelines:

Review and monitor Operational Reporting Calendar activities, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met.

Collaborate closely with affiliate compliance teams to preemptively address potential reporting issues.

  • Remediation Process Monitoring:

Support PwC remediation process on a frequent basis. Monitor and ensure Amgen team feedback is provided timely ensuring resolution of issues.

Participate in check-ins with the PwC team to discuss ongoing challenges and solutions.

  • Reporting Coordination:

Manage updates to reporting requirements, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure compliance.

Stay informed on the latest regulatory changes and prepare the team to adapt swiftly.

Main contact for country dispute management. Work with appropriate teams to review and confirm dispute resolution

  • Advisory Support:

Provide ad-hoc advisory support to internal initiatives, offering insights and recommendations based on current transparency practices.

Participate in audit investigations as needed, ensuring transparency and compliance are upheld throughout.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Healthcare Compliance and/or Business experience

Or

Master’s degree and 6 years of Healthcare Compliance and/or Business experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Healthcare Compliance and/or Business experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Healthcare Compliance and/or Business experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Healthcare Compliance and/or Business experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years of managerial experience leading teams, programs and projects or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of global transparency requirements and healthcare compliance laws

  • Transparency reporting/CMS Open Payments systems experience

  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement efforts

  • Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict

  • Ability to engage different personalities and levels within the organization

  • Ability to prioritize, be proactive and meet deadlines

  • Strong conceptual problem-solving skills

  • Proven success in change management

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong ethical work behavior

  • Strong program management experience in a life sciences/biopharmaceutical industry

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
