In the context of a rapidly evolving payer environment, Amgen’s growing emphasis on geographic expansion, acquisition/licensing as drivers of growth, and a dedication to demonstrate product value, Amgen requires an increasingly sophisticated reimbursement and pricing capability to support market access. The capabilities of the Integrated Access Strategy (IAS) group, within the Global Value & Access function (GV&A), positions Amgen for future success against this business-critical imperative. This team is responsible for strategic planning of value and access for all Amgen molecules in development, beginning in Phase I-II and extending throughout commercialization across the Amgen portfolio. This work also includes lifecycle planning and access support for top 10 markets for selected in-the-market products. Additionally, the team is responsible for global strategic pricing, including recommendations for global price bands and indication/country launch sequence.
In this vital role you will report to the Olpasiran Access Strategy Lead within the GenMed & In-Line Products Integrated Access Strategy (IAS) team. The Value & Access Senior Manager role will support key launch planning activities to ensure organizational readiness, as well as lifecycle planning and optimization of future indications. The individual will be responsible for supporting strategic assessments and generating critical insights to inform the pricing and access strategy, pricing policy and payer value story, as well as driving the development of key resources to enable seamless access strategy execution across the top 10 markets.
This role is global and strategic in nature and the Value & Access Senior Manager will interact cross-functionally within a variety of teams and in close collaboration with the HEOR, Operational Pricing Teams, Center for Observational Research (CfOR), Medical and Marketing counterparts. In addition, the Senior Manager will work closely with Olpasiran access leads in the top 10 Countries and be responsible for facilitating the Olpasiran Global Access Team (GAT) forum. In addition to product-specific responsibilities, the Senior Manager may participate in one or more portfolio projects to support the GenMed franchise with respect to developing a deeper understanding of the latest payer trends and health systems evolution. Such projects will require working cross-functionally within Amgen to further organizational goals within the GenMed franchise.
- Support global launch planning activities for Olpasiran for the top 10 markets including development of access materials for affiliates, such as the Integrated Access Strategy, Global Value Story and Objection Handler, pricing guidance materials, negotiation frameworks etc.
- Run and facilitate the Olpasiran Global Access Team forum and ensure best practice sharing across top 10 markets and insights gathering to inform access, pricing and payer evidence strategy refinement for the asset
- Support the development and governance process of the Global Pricing Policy
- Support forecast / LRS for LCM indications and review top 10 markets pricing/access assumptions
- With the ASL, conduct situation analysis and payer/pricing research of external pricing and reimbursement environment regarding different Olpasiran LCM indications, and synthesize relevant information to develop strategic recommendations for the Product Team
- Support franchise level initiatives to develop the cardiovascular market and optimize Amgen’s cardiovascular business, with a focus on payers & policy makers
- The role may involve travel (less than 5% domestic and international).

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of health economics, public health, epidemiology, pharmacy, life sciences or related field/relevant experience
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of health economics, public health, epidemiology, pharmacy, life sciences or related field/relevant experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of health economics, public health, epidemiology, pharmacy, life sciences or related field/relevant experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of health economics, public health, epidemiology, pharmacy, life sciences or related field/relevant experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of health economics, public health, epidemiology, pharmacy, life sciences or related field/relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Launch experience, preferably in the Cardiovascular space
- Strong understanding of the US payer environment, preferably combined with in-country work experience
- Strong understanding of the payer environment in major ex-US countries, including coverage and reimbursement, pricing, health technology assessment, and healthcare policy. Previous ex-US assignment at country, regional or global level will be considered a plus.
- Ability to review clinical and health economic literature, including disease state information, clinical trial design and results, and pharmacoeconomic studies, in order to understand implications for value to payers
- Ability to translate complex situations and pricing analyses into clear conclusions and to effectively communicate impact to Amgen business
- Ability to plan strategically, identify strategic options and trade-offs
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly fluid, interactive, matrixed environment and build strong, successful business partnerships with affiliate and global colleagues
- Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong prioritization and project management skills
- Strong oral/written presentation and communication skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
