Sr Mgr Information Systems - Request-to-Order Tech Product Owner (US - East Coast)
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will serve as the Technical Product Owner (TPO) for the Request-to-Order (R2O) product team, responsible for translating business priorities into a delivery roadmap. You will drive the evolution of Amgen’s procurement platforms, including SAP ECC/S4, Ariba, and integrations with guided procurement systems.
Responsibilities:
- Own the product backlog and roadmap for the R2O workstream.
- Collaborate with Business Product Owner, Architects, and Developers to prioritize and refine user stories.
- Define acceptance criteria and ensure feature readiness for development.
- Act as a liaison between the business and technical teams to ensure solution alignment.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities including configuration, integration, and testing.
- Partner with enterprise teams on change management, validation, and release readiness.
- Support audit requests and ensure documentation aligns with compliance standards.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information technology SAP related experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of Information technology SAP related experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Information technology SAP related experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information technology SAP related experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information technology SAP related experience
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above
Preferred Qualifications:
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience working with SAP ECC/S4 and SAP Ariba (P2P, Guided Buying).
- Deep functional knowledge in Source-to-Pay processes (Procurement, AP, Supplier Management).
- Strong backlog management and user story writing skills.
- At least 3–5 years of people or matrix leadership experience, preferably leading global teams or cross-functional initiatives.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of tools like LevelPath, MuleSoft, and EDF for integrations.
- Experience delivering in SAFe or Agile environments.
- Experience working in regulated global environments (e.g., pharma, manufacturing, life sciences) is a strong plus.
Professional Certifications (Preferred):
- SAFe Product Owner/Manager certification.
- SAP certification in MM or Ariba is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate across global teams and influence outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Team-oriented and focused on delivering high-value solutions.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to resolving challenges and driving innovation.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
