Business Performance Manager

What you will do

In this vital role you will shape the future of the Precision Medicine organization as part of the Precision Medicine Portfolio Management Strategy & Operations team. This individual will play a key role in the execution of critical processes and projects, most notably supporting the Head of Portfolio Management with key communications, strategic planning and change management, and overall portfolio communication activities. The position is essential in driving the success of our new operating model by managing effective communications to our cross-functional partners, fostering collaborator engagement, managing projects requested by our senior leaders, and facilitating change management efforts to drive better outcomes for our patients. The candidate will have a science-first attitude, meticulous, great communicator, highly organized, and proactive, with a strong focus on helping with continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Support the PMed Strategy and Operations team in strategy development, execution of organizational plans, creation of organizational communications, and implementation of functional projects.
  • Work directly with our PMed TA Heads to provide Project Management support for key PMed critical initiatives across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Proactively create and provide reports, dashboards and presentations, including Operating/Business Reviews, All-Staff presentations, & reports on business performance.
  • Oversee the ongoing operations of different meetings within the Precision Medicine business unit from agenda preparation and planning and meeting logistics to meeting minutes and action items.
  • Leverage digital tools (e.g. Smartsheet or similar platforms) to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and enhance the overall meeting experience by automating tasks and maintaining accurate documentation of activities and deliverables.
  • Regularly update content on the SharePoint site, FAQs, and other communication channels to keep partners informed (including development of PMed newsletter and PMed team announcement memos.)
  • Support change management strategy and activities by helping collect feedback on the current operating model from PMed and our cross-functional partners and implementing necessary changes.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships and drive standard processes with other SP&Os across R&D functions/ departments (including Global Development, Oncology Development, Research, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of business performance experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of business performance experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 8 years of business performance experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of business performance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA., PhD, PharmD, or Master’s Degree with 2 years of work experience in lab sciences and biopharmaceutical industry with 1 or more years of that experience in R&D with good knowledge of clinical development or biomarker assay development.
  • Background in Biology, Oncology, Cardiovascular Disease, Inflammation, or related field.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and organizational change initiatives, including experience in business case development.
  • Proven experience in running meetings, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and driving process improvements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of digital literacy with a variety of tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Miro, MS Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Tableau, Power BI) with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools.
  • Experience in SharePoint site management is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
