Associate Director, HCP Marketing Lead, Otezla Rheumatology

As part of our commitment to the Rheumatology and Dermatology space, Otezla has been a cornerstone product for a decade, demonstrating our dedication to addressing the needs of patients with chronic inflammatory diseases. Otezla serves a differentiated and key role in the market for patients who may have tried a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) therapy but are not yet ready for biologic treatment. In 2024, Otezla exceeded $2B in worldwide sales driven by 3% volume growth.

In this critical role, the Associate Director of HCP marketing will collaborate with cross functional partners to help drive the strategy set by Brand Leadership and ultimately execute the marketing plan with respect to HCP engagement. This role will drive the development of branded promotional communications, managing the evolution of marketing tactics across channels (Personal Promo and Peer to Peer), and partnering closely with the sales team to ensure strong execution of sales strategies and messaging, including key customer engagement, assessing further key customer strategy in the Rheum space.

The Associate Director will report to the Senior Director, Otezla Rheumatology Brand Lead.

  • Shape the brand through tactical execution, reflecting overall brand strategy:Partner with Brand lead and cross-functional partners to refine and implement, and ultimately execute on the strategic vision for Otezla in Rheumatology.
  • Tactical Planning Leadership: Lead the annual tactical planning process for HCP engagement. Design and oversee execution of tailored engagement plans that reinforce brand strategy, address barriers to prescribing, and support reactivation of key lapsed prescribers.
  • Align the development of promotional tactics: Collaborate across cross functional teams (market research, external engagement, agency partners) to gather deep insights and translate them into compelling unbranded and branded marketing collateral for Otezla.
  • Peer to Peer strategy:Oversee seamless execution of the speaker bureau, and the evolution of speaker program content to align with Otezla's strategic goals.
  • Partner with sales leadership: Ensure strategic and execution connectivity with the sales force. Regularly interface with the sales team to optimize performance, address challenges, and provide training on marketing resources and strategy.
  • Talent Management:Manage and coach direct reports to support their professional development and ensure strong team performance aligned with brand goals.
  • Opportunity Identification:Systematically capture insights via HCP interactions – primarily field visits, KOL interviews, and driving customer research to identify new patient growth opportunities. Leverage insights to inform targeting and HCP channel mix preferences.
  • Customer Interaction:Live and virtual interactions with priority HCPs, building long‑term professional relationships and ensuring continuous alignment with approved brand messaging and resources.
  • Accelerate:Effectively and consistently complete multiple, simultaneous projects and manage resources to ensure deliverables are timely, on budget, and answer business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement:Gain feedback on and track marketing program effectiveness and continuously strive to optimize marketing programs

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 3 years of marketing experience

OR

Master’s degree and 7 years of marketing experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of marketing experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 12 years of marketing experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 14 years of marketing experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 3 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree in marketing, healthcare management, or related subject area
  • 4+ years’ experience developing pharmaceutical campaign strategies and tactics for specialty products
  • Prior HCP promo experience highly preferred
  • Biotech/pharmaceutical experience
  • Record of growing responsibility within marketing
  • Experience with evolving strategy and promotional tactics in light of external market events and/or product life-cycle events
  • Ability to drive influence across stakeholders to set direction and align work efforts Marketing competence with proficiency in marketing strategy, market research, segmentation, brand positioning, messaging, and tactical development of materials used by field teams
  • Exhibits passion and empathy to build meaningful experiences for HCPs by understanding their needs and mentality
  • Demonstrated ability to take data and insights and translate them into actionable strategies and tactics
  • Experience working with agencies
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and live up to high ethical and compliance standards
  • Ability to complete work in a highly matrix environment involving many collaborators Strong self-starter; project management and ability to lead others to meet multiple priorities simultaneously in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong communication effectiveness: the ability to effectively engage, connect, and influence others across the organization, regardless of level or job-function

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
