Sr. Associate - Molecular Biology
What you will do
Protein Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our team in Thousand Oaks, CA. We are a multidisciplinary team in Research with capabilities in protein engineering, cloning, expression, purification, and analysis of therapeutic proteins. The group is responsible for the engineering, production, assessment, and final selection of large molecule drug candidates that advance to Process Development.
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for executing molecular biology experiments to advance Amgen’s large molecule drug candidates. You will also develop and implement novel laboratory solutions to advance our biologics drug discovery capabilities.
Follow and execute molecular biology workflows and operate automated laboratory robotic systems for high-throughput sample preparation and screening.
Organize and document laboratory data and experiments in electronic laboratory notebooks
Implement troubleshooting approaches with guidance from, and in collaboration with, manager and team members.
Clear and efficient communication of data and results within team

Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree
OR
Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience
Practical experience in molecular biology techniques (pipetting, DNA sample handling, and microbial cell culture)
Strong communication skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced research environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with yeast display and molecular biology techniques including PCR, DNA ligation and transformation.
Familiarity with flow cytometry and NGS.
Familiarity with laboratory automation for liquid handling such as Hamiliton

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
