Senior Manager, Engineering – Facilities & Engineering, LDC (Global Supply Chain)

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will lead integrated facility management, safety and EHSS programs, engineering teams, and serve as a key liaison for capital projects—all while embedding Amgen’s mission of serving patients through operational excellence.

Facilities & Operations

  • Lead integrated facilities maintenance ($1.6M OPEX) overseeing 12+ JLL employees and multiple sub-contracted service providers (maintenance, pest control, housekeeping, grounds).
  • Manage the MRO program, including $500K critical spare parts inventory and supervision of 1 EW.
  • Oversee Life Cycle Asset Management strategy and execution.

Engineering Leadership

  • Direct engineering SMEs and system ownership functions (3 FTEs: Validation & System Owners for Distribution & Manufacturing).

Safety & EHSS

  • Own site safety and environmental programs (1 dedicated FTE).
  • Serve as primary liaison to external emergency agencies (fire, police, disaster recovery).
  • Coordinate drills and emergency preparedness protocols.

Capital Projects

  • Partner with Capital Projects team with dotted-line oversight of 1 Senior Project Manager (EW).
  • Drive accountability for project timelines, budgets, and strategic alignment.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure audit readiness with zero critical/major findings.
  • Develop staff to own and write quality records.
  • Represent F&E in inspections and compliance forums.

Risk Management & Business Continuity

  • Serve as IMT Incident Commander for site-level emergency and pandemic responses.
  • Lead integrated business continuity simulations.

Leadership & Site Governance

  • Integral member of the LDC Senior Leadership Team.
  • Mentor and coach new managers and emerging leaders.
  • Collaborate closely with site head and leadership on strategic decisions.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Engineering experience Or

Master’s degree and 6 years of Engineering experience Or

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Engineering experience Or

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Engineering experience Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Facilities, Engineering, or Supply Chain roles within a regulated industry
  • Experience leading distributed teams and vendor staff
  • Familiarity with EHSS regulations and compliance (OSHA, EPA, FDA, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success managing capital projects and large operational budgets
  • Ability to drive cross-functional results and mentorhigh-performing teams

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
