What you will do
The Commercial Insights team at Amgen plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to Commercial leadership, offering data-backed insights crucial for driving commercial success. As a Commercial Insights Senior Associate, you will be responsible for delivering HCP (Health Care Provider) primary market research (PMR) and insights to the brand teams.
The role will focus on building standards of excellence in market research and integrating various data sources from cross-functional teams. You will provide deep market understanding and practical outputs as an excellent business partner, through advanced market research techniques. You will guide others through complex processes in daily execution of primary market research, as well as developing the long-term insight generation plan to support marketing and sales teams. Acting as an internal consultant to those teams, your communication and interpersonal skills will set you apart from others and blend seamlessly with the technical ability to implement primary market research, both qualitative and quantitative. You will find the “So What” in the data and that responsibility will be important.
Responsibilities will include:
• Participate in key initiatives within the US Primary Research Group in support of the Market Research Renaissance.
• Update performance dashboards for core tracking programs, collaborating with CD&A and Marketing to enable market insights at a cross-portfolio level.
• Assist in the design and facilitation of internal workshops to build a shared cross-portfolio understanding of market research best practices across foundational tracking studies with healthcare professionals and consumers.
• Synthesize and Integrate insights from a variety of sources (market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data, performance tracking, thought-leader interactions) to address business needs.
• Generate and communicate key insights from data, understanding the requirements from stakeholders and business needs
• Work to translate primary market research findings into practical insights and be able to influence the team’s decision making accordingly
• Communicate effectively and maintain relationships with internal cross-functional partners and external vendors to prioritize business needs and enable effective insights generation
• Improve team capabilities by researching and implementing new research tools, internal and external standard methodologies, etc.
• Ensure adherence to compliance/legal regulations.
• Flexibility as new areas of responsibility are defined.
• Collaborate with the broader CD&A organization to integrate comprehensive insights and analytics.

What we expect of you
Our ideal candidate is a team player with customer focus. He/she is problem solving and result oriented and has time and process management skills and can compile data.
Proven experience and skills needed:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech market research, data and analytics, or consulting experience
• OR Master’s degree and 3 years of market research, analytics and/or consulting experience
• OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of market research, analytics and/or consulting experience
• University Degree in commerce, finance, economics, mathematics, healthcare or related field
• Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
Preferred Requirements:
• Prior experience in primary market research and project management
• Market understanding in one of Amgen’s business areas: Rare Diseases, Oncology, Inflammation, Cardiovascular/Metabolic/Bone, Biosimilars
• Knowledge or experience in data, analytics, and research approaches both qualitative and quantitative
• Analysis and project management skills to turn unstructured business issues into action plans that result in meaningful strategic or tactical recommendations
• Ability to drive implementation to enhance methodologies and standard processes
• Ability to translate business requirements into innovative solutions
• Strong client service and communication skills – written, oral, and presentation – appropriately gauged to a broad range of audiences from senior leadership to front-line field staff and to peers in various subject areas
• Expertise in Microsoft products Excel, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrates a service-minded attitude
