AUDIT & TECHNOLOGY LEAD, GLOBAL MEETINGS

WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this vital role as Audit & Technology Lead you will oversee Amgen’s global meeting audit and data verification program, ensuring technology readiness, data analytics, automation, supplier compliance, financial accuracy, audit preparedness, and data integrity. Leading a global team, you will drive process innovation, enhance reporting capabilities, and support continuous improvement efforts, collaborating closely with stakeholders across regions and functions.  This is a global leadership role within the Global Meetings Management (GMM) team.

Core responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead a team responsible for meeting technology, audit, and data verification.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and career development for direct reports. Set clear goals and priorities to ensure high-quality execution across functions.

  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture across the global team.

  • Deliver regular training to internal staff and external agency partners to reinforce compliance, improve audit accuracy, and ensure alignment with global standards.

Meeting Technology, Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Serve as the primary business lead for GMM-owned systems, including:
    - Cvent (system of record)
    - Data Angel (quality control platform)
    - Small Meetings Technology
    - GMM Dashboards

  • Own the GMM technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business needs.

  • Provide strategic input to initiatives related to audit automation, supplier platform adoption, and reporting enhancements.

  • Represent GMM in cross-functional discussions (e.g., with C3, Technology teams) regarding system enhancements, QC tools, and data strategy.

  • Lead innovation and process improvement efforts to streamline workflows, enhance audit automation, and support real-time performance tracking.

  • Stay current on emerging tools and technologies that support compliance monitoring, predictive analytics, and data visualization.

Global Meetings Audit & Data Verification Leadership

  • Define, govern, and maintain global meeting audit standards and data verification protocols in alignment with Amgen’s Corporate and Global Meetings Policy.

  • Oversee the completion of 800+ meeting audits annually across 65+ countries, with a total audited meeting spend of over $50M.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and regional GMM leaders to monitor agency performance, escalate risks, and improve meeting data accuracy.

  • Deliver quarterly audit reporting to Corporate Audit & Compliance and support regional teams on audit inquiries and escalations.

  • US Meeting Audit & Corporate Meeting Card Compliance

  • Lead US-based audit operations for high-spend meetings (>$1M), including review of invoices, third-party contracts, agency SOWs, and POs.

  • Conduct monthly sampling of Corporate Meeting Card transactions to ensure compliance with Amgen policy.

  • Track and report discrepancies, agency audit accuracy, and financial savings using Cvent and/or other approved systems.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

  • University degree in business, Finance, Technology, or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience in meetings management, audit/compliance, event technology, or related roles.

  • Line management experience in a global or cross-functional environment.

  • Proficiency with meeting management platforms (e.g., Cvent) and data verification tools (e.g., Data Angel).

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams and multiple regions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.

  • PMP or formal project management certification.

  • Familiarity with automation and reporting tools (e.g., UiPath, Power BI, Tableau).

  • Experience leading global supplier governance or third-party vendor oversight.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
