WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will be joining our Global Commercial Operations – Technology capability team. This young and dynamic team, focusing on the ELMAC Region (including Europe, Latin America, Canada and Africa), is responsible to support technology roadmap development in a different business value streams in ACCP organization. The role of Specialist IS Engineer acts as a thought partner and technical leader for the commercial business community. You will be responsible for understanding business needs, contribute on designing a technical solution by being part of the selected product teams.
In this senior role, you will work across business and technology teams to deliver digital solutions that support Amgen’s operations, including commercial, access, analytics, and patient engagement capabilities. You’ll operate within SAFe Agile and DevOps environment and play a key role in supporting strategic business development, translating business needs into technical outcomes, and delivering high-impact solutions.
As a senior contributor, you will lead complex initiatives and guide junior team members, acting as a role model and technical mentor while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted business partner to gather, clarify, and translate requirements into scalable and innovative technical solutions.
Design and document system functionality, workflows, and integrations aligned with platform best practices.
Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects across multiple stakeholders and geographies.
Facilitate agile planning, sprint execution, and backlog prioritization in partnership with product owners.
Support release planning, testing coordination, and go-live activities in a DevOps operating model.
Mentor and support junior analysts or engineers, helping them navigate delivery tasks, solution design, and stakeholder engagement.
Drive stakeholder alignment and proactively identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to continuous improvement of standards, processes, and toolkits.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
Technical expertise:
We are looking for a candidate with a robust and comprehensive technical foundation. Required expertise includes several of the following:
CRM Platforms: Hands-on experience configuring and customizing Salesforce (Sales, Service, Marketing, Commerce) and/or Veeva CRM.
Development Tools: Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL; working with DevOps pipelines (e.g., Git, Copado).
Systems Integration: Experience with API development and integration frameworks such as Mulesoft or equivalent.
Cloud & Data Platforms: Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift), data modeling, and cloud-based data pipelines.
ETL & BI Tools: Understanding of ETL processes (e.g., Informatica, Databricks); SQL proficiency; exposure to Tableau or Power BI for reporting.
Agile & DevOps: Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments; comfortable with CI/CD practices and tools.
Other Systems: Exposure to planning/forecasting tools; knowledge of system validation and compliance frameworks in regulated environments.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5–6 years of experience in business analysis or systems engineering roles.
Proven experience leading complex projects involving multiple teams, stakeholders, and system integrations.
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to team growth and knowledge development.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities with high attention to detail.
Preferred:
Experience with development, maintenance and/or change management with at least 2 of the following platforms - Salesforce Clouds, Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, Tableau, SAP S/4HANA, Workday, MuleSoft, AWS, RPA tools etc.,
Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry domains.
Prior exposure to regulated environments, data governance, and enterprise architecture principles.
