Senior Manager Process Development (PD) – Drug Product (DP)

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital leadership role, you will oversee the Drug Product Process Development organization at AML. You will be responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership across a broad portfolio of commercial and development-stage drug product operations. You will also lead a high-performing team of scientists and engineers to drive innovation in drug product manufacturing, enhance commercial processes, and ensure the highest standards of quality and delivery to meet patient needs.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and direct the Drug Product Process Development organization, including planning, coordinating, and executing technical service activities.
  • Support lifecycle management of commercial drug products through continuous process improvement and technical oversight.
  • Manage day-to-day operations support including deviation investigations, process monitoring, regulatory inspections, and quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with site leadership, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and global stakeholders to align on priorities and ensure execution excellence.
  • Set functional objectives, prioritize team efforts, and ensure delivery on project timelines and operational goals.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocations.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management for direct reports and staff within the function.
  • Oversee successful execution of validations and technology transfers for new product introductions.

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Senior Manager Process Development professional we seek is a collaborative leader with these qualifications.

Doctorate degree & 2 years of Process Development, Quality and/or Manufacturing support industry experience

OR

Master’s degree & 6 years of Process Development, Quality and/or direct Manufacturing support industry experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of Process Development, Quality and/or direct Manufacturing support industry experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Process Development, Quality and/or direct Manufacturing support industry experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Process Development, Quality and/or direct Manufacturing support industry experience

And

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources.  Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.

Beyond that, additional preferred qualifications are:

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience guiding technical teams, including direct oversight of resource planning and allocation.
  • Understanding/experience on commercial equipment such as formulation tanks, depyrogenation tunnels, filling lines, isolators, vial washer, capper, and others.
  • Expertise with filling (Syringes/Vials) process characterization and/or validation.
  • Familiarity with analytical methods and protein science.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and software such as JMP and/or Minitab.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with senior leaders and cross-functional partners with experience working with multiple functional areas.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively.
