What you will do
Amgen India is a key contributor to the company’s global digital transformation initiatives, delivering secure, compliant, and user-friendly digital solutions. As part of the Global Medical Technology – Medical Information team, you will play a critical role in ensuring quality, compliance, and performance across Amgen’s Medical Information platforms.
In this role, you will serve as a Platform Developer II (Salesforce) & UI/UX Developer, responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and user-friendly applications on the Salesforce platform. You will actively contribute to the design, development, and customization of Lightning components, Apex classes, Visualforce pages, and system integrations within GxP-regulated environments.
You will also play a critical role in enhancing user experience and usability across Medical Information Websites and portals built on Salesforce, applying UI/UX best practices to ensure an intuitive and engaging front-end experience for healthcare professionals and internal users. Additionally, you will work closely with DevOps and release management teams, leveraging Copado to manage version control, deployment automation, and continuous integration workflows across environments.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design and develop Salesforce Lightning Components (Aura/LWC), Visualforce pages, and Apex classes to support application requirements.
Configure and manage roles, profiles, permission sets, and region-specific security and sharing settings.
Customize standard and custom objects, fields, page layouts, and validation rules based on business requirements.
Build and maintain Apex triggers, batch classes, and scheduled jobs with robust exception handling.
Develop and support Salesforce integrations with internal and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware as needed.
Apply Salesforce development best practices to build maintainable, testable, and performant applications in a regulated environment.
Collaborate with UX designers and stakeholders to translate wireframes and business needs into elegant, responsive UI designs.
Conduct cross-browser and accessibility testing and contribute to the development of user-centered interfaces and experiences.
Support the development and execution of test scripts during unit, QA, and system testing phases.
Participate in the review and documentation of functional requirements (RS) and technical specifications (DS).
Utilize Copado to manage source control, deployments, pipeline automation, and environment management in support of release processes
Ensure applications comply with GxP and Computer System Validation (CSV) standards, including traceability, test evidence, and version control.
Contribute to the preparation and review of validation documentation including RS, DS, RTM, test plans, and summary reports.
Troubleshoot and resolve application bugs, performance issues, and usability gaps through effective debugging and root cause analysis.
Stay current with the latest Salesforce platform updates, UI/UX trends, and front-end development tools.
Work within Agile/Scrum development teams and collaborate with QA, DevOps, and Compliance stakeholders to support the SDLC process.

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 1 to 3 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR
Diploma and 7 to 9 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience
Preferred Qualifications:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
4+ years of experience in Salesforce platform development including Lightning, Apex, Visualforce, and integrations
Experience configuring security, sharing rules, and region-wise access models in Salesforce
UI/UX development skills with knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design
Familiarity with Salesforce Experience Cloud or other Salesforce-hosted portals
Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design tools
Experience in validated environments and regulated industries (pharmaceutical, healthcare)
Proven experience working with Copado for deployment automation, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and release management
Strong understanding of GxP and CSV requirements, including documentation and test traceability
Proficiency in Salesforce testing, deployment, and source control processes
Agile/Scrum methodology experience
Must-Have Skills:
Proficient in developing custom solutions using Salesforce Lightning Components (Aura and LWC), Apex classes, Visualforce pages, and Apex triggers, including batch classes and schedulers with exception handling.
Experience configuring standard/custom objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, roles, profiles, permission sets, and region-specific sharing and access models.
Hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with internal and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs; familiarity with middleware for system interoperability.
Solid understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with the ability to translate wireframes into responsive and accessible interfaces.
Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, or other UI/UX design and wireframing tools for interface collaboration and feedback.
Experience with cross-browser testing and creating accessible, mobile-first interfaces that comply with modern UX standards.
Good-to-Have Skills:
Skilled in using Copado for deployment automation, CI/CD pipeline configuration, source control management, and environment management across multiple sandboxes.
Experience participating in Agile/Scrum teams, with knowledge of sprint planning, retrospectives, and iterative development workflows.
Strong interest in staying updated on Salesforce releases, UI trends, platform enhancements, and evolving best practices in development and validation.
Exposure to pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries with an understanding of compliance and patient safety requirements.
Proficient in contributing to and reviewing requirements specifications (RS), design specifications (DS), RTMs, and validation summary reports.
Working knowledge of GxP and Computer System Validation (CSV) standards, with experience in maintaining traceability, test evidence, validation documentation, and version control in regulated environments.
