Amgen operates in Norway and Denmark as a combined affiliate, and this cluster was one of the biggest growth sales contributors in the entire WEMEA region in 2024. The finance team is responsible for all the finance and related activities for the commercial entities in both countries, a Design Engineering site in Denmark, and the Icelandic market (served via a distributor partner). The local finance team is supported by the Amgen Capability Centre in Portugal (ACCP) that takes care of the financial data processing and operational tasks. Reporting to the head of finance, the Finance Manager works for the commercial affiliates in Norway and Denmark (covering Iceland too) and is meant to be a key contributor in the finance team, and to position the finance function as a trusted business partner to the commercial affiliates (while operational work is performed in ACCP).
The position is expected to be recruited in the Danish office in the Copenhagen area.
Responsibilities:
Management and responsibility of Business (sales) and Financial (cost) Planning and Analysis functions (2 employees) located in the Amgen Capability Centre in Portugal (ACCP), making sure that all related activities (e.g., financial closing, cost controlling, sales submission accuracy, various financial reporting and analysis, data integrity in financial systems) are properly delivered.
Responsibility for coordinating and consolidating various forecast cycles by ensuring all cross-functional feedback/ data (including pricing review with market access team) is considered and challenged to produce reliable forecasting plans and assumptions to discuss with head of finance.
Partner with the head of finance to help driving the financial strategy of the affiliate and generate strategic and tactical insights, while proactively advising and contributing to the development of the finance function.
Become a valuable business partner to the commercial, market access and medical functions by advising on financial trends and forecast deviations, product investment opportunities, financial implications of business decisions, and business cases for pricing approvals.
Ownership of the cooperation with logistics team (located in Sweden) by providing insightful market information and input for proper market supply demand.
Cooperate with market access, contract and pricing partner (in ACCP) and external distributors to review and approve claims (credit and debit notes, payments) from Danish and Norwegian wholesalers, to guarantee proper compliance and management of sales accruals and payment release.
Support head of finance in other standard processes like profit tax model preparation, sales incentives comparisons, external audit requests and contract monitoring.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Economics or Finance related fields.
6+ years of experience in similar positions or in positions working on financial or business planning.
Previous experience in international environment focusing on cross-functional business partnering.
Knowledge of commercial finance processes (planning, financial and business analysis, insight generation, financial closing processes, accrual management).
Strong analytical and planning skills.
Ability to work within a team, handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and soft skills to work cross-functionally and to manage and coach partners in Amgen Capability Center in Portugal (ACCP).
Detail-oriented, problem solving with clear organizational skills.
Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in various areas of finance.
Basic knowledge of US GAAP, and general finance laws concerning business admin for Denmark and Norway.
Experience with Amgen IS financial tools (Hyperion, SAP, Anaplan).
