At Amgen Breda, medicines are labeled, assembled, stored, and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

Join our dynamic Global Distribution Hub EMEA team, part of the broader Global Distribution within Supply Chain Operations, and help shape the future of external warehousing at Amgen. You’ll contribute to the integration of Horizon Therapeutics and other external warehouses, playing a key role in evaluating, analyzing, and recommending improvements to optimize operations and enhance business performance.
Your key focus areas:
- Current State Analysis: Conduct a thorough review of the external warehouse footprint and related processes to identify improvement and standardization opportunities.
- Cost and Volume Analysis: Analyze costs, volumes, and regulatory requirements to generate insights that support strategic decisions.
- Future Recommendations: Develop a business case and present recommendations to support the future state design of Amgen’s external warehousing landscape.
Deliverables:
- Comprehensive mapping and analysis of current third-party warehouse operations.
- Data-driven assessment of cost and volume performance.
- Recommendations supported by business case logic for improved external warehousing.
- Presentation of key findings and improvement opportunities to relevant stakeholders.

We are looking for students with passion and who are thrilled to help in our mission “to serve patients.” To be successful as an intern you need the following:
- Be a final year (afstudeerstage) student, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or related field (HBO/WO).
- Strong proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- A team player with a proactive attitude and strong sense of ownership.
- Analytical thinker with a knack for storytelling through data.
- Detail-oriented while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
- Familiarity with LEAN principles and operational excellence methodologies.
- Comfortable working in an international and dynamic environment with various stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
