What will you do

The ACTIMMUNE marketing lead will be responsible for setting brand strategies and driving strong brand execution. Success in this position will require a proven ability to closely collaborate with a cross-functional internal team (including sales, market access, analytics, advocacy, public affairs, commercial operations, market research and medical affairs) as well as to provide leadership to key external agencies and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a team player, be a strategic thinker, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be adaptable, and have a desire to make a difference.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge/awareness of market dynamics that can affect the product growth. Works closely with Clinical Science Associates (CSAs), internal cross-functional team and external vendors in the development of new programs in response to market understanding.
  • Lead development of the ACTIMMUNE strategic plan by defining brand vision, positioning, key issues, critical success factors, and tactical plans in conjunction with Brand Lead
  • Monitor industry trends, market research and sales force feedback to contribute to the development of the brand strategic and tactical plan.  Regularly evaluate and measure initiative impact (ROI).  Provide input into necessary adjustments to marketing messages and tactics based on facts, experience, and logical assumptions, taking into consideration opportunity for gain, resources, constraints risk/reward and organizational values.
  • Develop and lead the planning and implementation of HCP promotional tactics and programs for all stages of the patient journey.
  • Work in partnership with National Thought Leader Liaison to align on KOL strategies and initiatives which may include managing speaker’s bureau, conference presence and symposia, advisory board meetings, and HCP educational/promotional materials
  • Must build and maintain partnerships with internal cross-functional groups (Compliance, Regulatory, Medical, Project Management, Sales Training, Sales Leadership) to represent and advocate marketing interests and drive the success of strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Needs to demonstrate strong executive presence and have ability to influence without authority
  • Serve as lead for external partners (ad agency, meeting planners, market researchers, consultants) to ensure integration and consistency of strategies and messages across all tactics.  Negotiate with vendors and drive optimal value for brand. Work closely with contracts, pharmacovigilance, and compliance on Master Services Agreements, work orders, and contractual agreements.
  • Own and lead planning and marketing execution of annual sales meeting (e.g., national meeting, POA, regional deep dives); work in close partnership with national sales director for alignment
  • Ensures that marketing materials meet brand and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of marketing/sales, or business experience
  • Master's degree and 4 years of marketing/sales or business experience
  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of marketing/sales or business experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing/sales and experience in the healthcare pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred.
  • Specialty or Rare Disease product marketing or sales experience, preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple projects and managing multiple external vendors.
  • Must have strong planning, project management, communication, and organization skills.  Ability to seize feedback and provide clear direction is essential. 
  • Flexibility to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment with multiple demands with initiative and independence required.
  • Ability to develop and execute on the principles of brand management, including brand positioning, messaging & overall campaign.
  • Team orientation a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional, proactive demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires approximately 15-20% travel, including some weekend or overnight commitments.
