Sr. Maintenance Technician (Electrical) - Days

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for performing electrical operations and maintenance activities throughout the ARI site.

The on-boarding phase for this role will last 2-4 weeks, during which time successful incumbents will be on an administrative schedule (Monday through Friday, approximately 8am to 5pm). Following the on-boarding phase, the successful incumbent will be expected to join a shift team working a 12-hour shift. The shift pattern will be 7am -7 with a two-week rotation covering 7 days per week. The rotating shift offers several benefits, with an average of 14 days on shift per month with every other weekend off. In addition, any Sundays worked receive Premium pay.

Job Specific duties include:

  • Operate and maintain electrical power generation and distribution systems

  • Operate and maintain backup power / emergency power generation systems and Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS)

  • Perform troubleshooting and repair, and installation of electrical equipment and systems

  • Support operation and maintenance of Building Fire Alarm systems including operating the system, disabling points and performing troubleshooting activities

  • Support operation and maintenance and troubleshooting of Building Fire Protection Systems including Wet Sprinkler, Dry Chemical, Water mist, and Site Fire Pump

  • Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance and repair activities on complex equipment and systems used across the ARI site

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems

  • Identify equipment performance opportunities and recommends improvements to the maintenance program owners

  • Ensure work activities are completed correctly. Maximize right the first time execution.

  • Work in a highly productive and efficient manner to maximize the quantity of activities completed

  • Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key stakeholders

  • Ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely

  • Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assisting with implementation

  • Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will

  • improve overall team performance

  • Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner and with quality

  • Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and cGMP’s

  • Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key stakeholders

  • Ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely

  • Lead by example and create a positive, respectful, professional and consistent work environment at all times

  • Provide on time and accurate communication of issues and updates/reports as necessary

  • Flexibility to provide support when required - this may be outside of normal working hours including nights, weekends and holidays

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school/GED + 2 years of electrical systems/maintenance related work or military experience OR​

  • Associate’s + 6 months of electrical systems/maintenance work or military experience​

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rhode Island Journeyperson Electrician B License, or Journeyperson Maintenance M License or ability to obtain the Rhode Island Electrician License

  • 5 + years Electrical and Utilities systems experience

  • Experience with operation and maintenance of industrial electrical generation and power distribution systems (12,470 / 480 / 208 / 120 volts)

  • Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry

  • Rhode Island Electrical Contractor A License

  • Knowledge and experience working in a highly regulated function

  • Proven equipment troubleshooting skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Ability to execute work orders in the Maximo computerized maintenance management system

  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, P&ID’s and equipment schematics and wiring diagram

  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams

  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to provide guidance and technical advice to others

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
