Maintenance Tech - Nights

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for maintaining systems and performing various maintenance activities throughout the Rhode Island site.

In this role, you will be expected to work a 12-hour shift (7PM-7AM) on a rotating schedule (D Shift). This includes extra benefits such asreceiving an added 15% shift differential, and also getting premium pay for any Sundays worked.The schedule during the initial on-boarding/training phase (2-6 weeks) will be administrative (Monday through Friday, approximately 8am to 5pm).

Under direct supervision duties include:

  • Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance and repair activities on equipment and systems used across the ARI site

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems

  • Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner and with quality

  • Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and cGMPs

  • Work in a highly productive and efficient manner to increase the quantity of activities completed

  • Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key stakeholders

  • Ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely

  • Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assisting with implementation

  • Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall team performance

  • Provide support when required - this may be outside of normal working hours including nights, weekends and holidays

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintenance activities are implemented safely

  • Maintenance activities are completed right the first time

  • Maintenance activities are completed in timely manner

  • Maintenance activities are performed per applicable procedures

  • Issues and opportunities that are observed are reported in a timely manner

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma / GED and 4 years of Maintenance experience OR

  • 2 years in a technical school setting with hands-on experience OR

  • Associates degree and 2 years of Maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of combined education, training, and experience in mechanical maintenance with an emphasis on sanitary processing equipment and systems.

  • 3+ years knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and ability to effectively perform associated maintenance activities.

  • Knowledge and experience working in a highly regulated function – cGMP.

  • Experience executing and documenting maintenance work orders in a computerized maintenance management system.

  • Ability to interpret P&ID's.

  • Ability to work with minimum direction.

  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and status of tasks in a timely manner.

  • Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams.

  • Works well in teams and uses science-based collaboration to drive continuous improvements

  • Has an understanding and applies World Class Maintenance initiatives to deliver positive outcomes

  • Works effectively with others who have different perspectives, backgrounds and/or styles and can produce positive outcomes without relying on unnecessary oversite.

  • A leader in safety, quality, and compliance.

  • Ability to deliver positive successful results when confronted with major responsibilities and limited resources.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
