Finance Senior Manager
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will provide strategic financial leadership and analytical support for Amgen’s Rhode Island Drug Substance Manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with site leadership to drive financial performance, ensure compliance with corporate standards, and enable efficient, cost-effective operations in a dynamic, multi-product environment.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead development of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans for ARI manufacturing operations.
- Monitor and analyze actual results versus forecasts; provide actionable insights to improve performance.
Operational Support
- Partner with site leadership on capital investment decisions, cost optimization initiatives, and resource allocation.
- Support manufacturing volume planning and cost modeling for AR5 and AR30 facilities.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to Amgen financial policies and internal controls.
- Educate stakeholders on financial processes and compliance requirements.
Strategic Projects
- Contribute to next-generation biomanufacturing initiatives.
- Provide financial analysis for technology transfers, product introductions, and operational efficiency programs.

What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The finance professional we seek is a person with these qualifications.
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with cost accounting, variance analysis, and capital project evaluation.
- Expertise in SAP, Hyperion, and advanced Excel (large data sets, VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
