What you will do

The Study Operations Project Manager in Medical Affairs at Amgen is responsible for working in a team environment partnering with Access and Use Evidence Generation Medical leaders and Program Managers to support planning, executing, and tracking projects (studies). Stakeholders are cross-functional and geographically disperse. The SOPM will manage study timelines, risks, issues and data curation from the study lead to the product lead by driving execution of the AUEG portfolio strategy.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the AUEG product lead, core team and program manager to execute the portfolio strategy
- Liaise with relevant cross-functional team members to manage AUEG processes, key timelines and study milestones.
- Organize and facilitate meetings (agenda, minutes, ensure presentations are ready, send pre-reads on time, follow-up pending actions, organize logistics, meeting requests, etc)
- Oversight and tracking of AUEG portfolio of studies including budget, data currency/accuracy and issue resolution.

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree
Or
- Master’s degree & 3 years of Project Management experience
Or
- Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of Project Management experience
Or
- Associates degree & 10 years of Project Management experience
Or
- High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Project Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfortable in navigating in ambiguity but resourceful in finding resolution and answers; comfortable calling for help when stuck
- Self-driven, independent, organized, manages own time with minimal direction
- Highly responsive, accessible and proactive
- Loves to collaborate and communicate and knows how/when to tune communications with greater/less detail depending on audience
- Adaptable, flexible
- Strong spoken/written professional acumen, interpersonal/team skills
- Ability to apply research findings, gather information, interpret and analyze findings; develop and finally implement a logical and strategic plan of action
- Ability to make supportable recommendations to help achieve goals
- Strong project management skills, proficiency in logistic planning from beginning to end, priority setting, deliver results on time and multi-tasking
- Ability to think critically, proactively anticipate problems and propose solutions
- Ability to work effectively/collaboratively across teams, levels of management, across partnerships, leverage contact network to motivate diverse teams, and enable cross-functional collaborations
- Project Management, operational and/or technical experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Experience working within a complex process or working in a context of evidence generation operations
- Experience handling multiple responsibilities, priorities and tasks with minimal direction
- Proven success in operating in a matrixed or team environment
- Proven MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency; comfortable with MS Teams
- Technology Experience: Salesforce systems and custom-building reports (as a business user, not a technical expert) would be helpful; Smartsheet proficiency, comfortable with use of ChatGPT
- Curious and self-driven learning in technology or business processes to develop self or in the spirit of helping the team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and engagement skills with diverse stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical skills and paying attention to the details
- Experience handling multiple responsibilities, priorities and tasks with minimal direction
- Ability to manage a high-volume of projects simultaneously while consistently delivering quality end-product
- Experience communicating and collaborating across various parts of an organization (Finance, R&D, Compliance)
- Experience coordinating teams in a matrix environment

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
