Senior Manager Capabilities and Change Management

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world.

This role sits at the center of Amgen’s transformation agenda, working directly with RDO leadership to shape how transformation and change are executed across the enterprise.

As a Senior Manager, you will help define and scale the methods, tools, and knowledge systems that enable consistent, high-quality execution of Amgen’s most critical initiatives. Rather than advising from the sidelines, you will work hands-on to build, refine, and embed the capabilities that determine whether transformation efforts succeed or stall.

You will operate across a broad and evolving portfolio of initiatives, partnering with senior stakeholders to bring structure to ambiguity, align ways of working, and ensure modern approaches to change are adopted in practice—not just defined.

This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to enterprise priorities, requiring a balance of structured problem solving, change leadership, and practical execution.

  • Define and operationalize modern change and transformation methods, playbooks, templates, and tools, ensuring they are practical, fit-for-purpose, and applied in real work.
  • Clarify how and when tools should be used, reducing duplication, fragmentation, and tool sprawl to create a coherent operating model.
  • Partner with transformation teams to embed methods into day-to-day ways of working, reinforcing consistent application across initiatives.
  • Establish and scale a knowledge management capability, including content ownership, curation, and access, and define how knowledge is captured, structured, and reused across teams.
  • Build and evolve mechanisms (e.g., forums, content hubs) that enable practical knowledge sharing, integrating them into how teams operate.
  • Promote consistent application of modern, outcome-oriented change management approaches, supporting practitioners through guidance, tools, and targeted coaching.
  • Identify where adoption breaks down and implement focused interventions to improve uptake and effectiveness.
  • Drive effective use of key platforms (e.g., digital change platforms, toolkit site, AI-enabled tools) by ensuring they are aligned to practitioner needs and integrated into workflows.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously improve usability, relevance, and impact.
  • Connect work across capability, methods, and technology, clarifying ownership and ensuring a cohesive approach across the transformation ecosystem.
  • Facilitate alignment with senior stakeholders and help establish clear direction and scalable ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships across RDO, SLT, and cross-functional teams, influencing without authority to drive alignment and progress.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a strong bias toward delivering tangible outcomes.
