R&D Knowledge and Learning Sr Manager - Oncology

What you will do

As a Knowledge and Learning professional, you will play a strategic role in shaping how our Global Oncology Medical Affairs teams learn, grow, and deliver on their mission, with a focus on Solid Tumors. You will be responsible for proactively planning, implementing, delivering, and continuously improving scientific training globally, focused on advancing knowledge of disease biology, treatment landscapes, biomarkers, precision medicine, emerging clinical data, and evolving standards of care across solid tumor oncology.

This role requires close cross-functional collaboration with Global Medical Affairs, Medical Excellence, and Medical Science Liaisons to ensure learning strategies and training programs are aligned, integrated, and impactful. In addition to developing learning strategies and educational content, you will serve as a lead facilitator for scientific training initiatives, delivering engaging learning experiences that build scientific expertise and confidence across global medical teams.

By driving a culture of continuous scientific learning and excellence, you will ensure that medical teams are equipped with the scientific expertise needed to support scientific exchange, navigate an evolving oncology landscape, and contribute to meaningful outcomes for patients living with cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Global Oncology Medical Affairs leadership to anticipate learning needs, align scientific training with organizational strategy, and ensure teams are equipped with the expertise required to meet their objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end process of proactively planning, implementing, delivering, and continuously improving global scientific training programs aligned with medical and organizational priorities.
  • Design and implement global scientific learning strategies that deepen expertise in solid tumor disease biology, treatment landscapes, biomarkers, precision medicine, clinical data, and evolving standards of care.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop high-quality scientific training content and materials internally, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and scientific rigor.
  • Facilitate live and virtual scientific training sessions, workshops, onboarding programs, congress debriefs, and learning events for global and regional medical teams.
  • Lead new hire and new-to-product onboarding, ensuring teams are equipped with a strong foundation in disease state, treatment landscape, clinical data, and medical strategy to be effective in their roles.
  • Contribute to the development of learning strategies that support key organizational priorities, including product launches, indication expansions, major oncology congresses, and emerging scientific data milestones.
  • Introduce new approaches, tools, and technologies (e.g., digital platforms, modular learning, AI-enabled learning solutions, and peer-to-peer exchange) to create engaging and impactful scientific training experiences.
  • Champion a culture of continuous scientific learning within Medical Affairs, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and scientific excellence.
  • Adapt scientific training to diverse geographies and functions, tailoring approaches to meet the needs of global and regional medical teams.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness and continuously enhance training programs based on feedback, learner needs, and evolving business priorities.
  • Some travel may be required (approximately 20%).).

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of clinical and/or scientific affairs experience

OR

Master’s degree and 4 years of clinical and/or scientific affairs experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of clinical and/or scientific affairs experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of clinical and/or scientific affairs experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years clinical and/or scientific affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A professional degree of Pharm.D., or MD/DO or PhD in a relevant medical science field (eg, biology, chemistry, pharmacology) with 5 or more years of biotech/pharmaceutical and /or clinical experience
  • Understanding of learning methodology and design
  • Excellent technical writing, oral, presentation, and project management skills and the ability to search, critically analyze, and summarize scientific literature
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the legal and regulatory guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products
  • Ability to interface cross-functionally in a dynamic, matrixed environment

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
