Bone IMPACT (Igniting Momentum through Policy, Alliances, Communications, and Technology) is Amgen's enterprise above-brand strategy to advance this ambition by mobilizing partners across the healthcare ecosystem and creating the conditions that improve disease awareness, diagnosis, treatment, and fracture prevention.
The Marketing Director, Bone IMPACT will lead the evolution of Amgen's enterprise market-shaping strategy for osteoporosis by identifying, prioritizing, and advancing initiatives that transform the future osteoporosis landscape. Working across Marketing, Medical, Health Systems, Government Affairs, Corporate Communications, Advocacy, Value & Access, HEOR, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and external stakeholders, this leader will shape strategy, build strategic partnerships, identify emerging opportunities, and align organizational capabilities to accelerate meaningful improvements in osteoporosis care, with the opportunity to build a team and develop talent as the capability expands.
This is a unique opportunity to help build one of Amgen's most strategic enterprise capabilities while shaping the future of osteoporosis care for one of the largest and most underserved patient populations in healthcare. Success in this highly visible leadership role requires strategic thinking, influence without authority, external partnership leadership, and the ability to translate bold ideas into executable strategies within a complex, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Enterprise Strategy & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Develop the long-term Bone IMPACT vision and enterprise strategy aligned with Bone Health business priorities.
- Identify emerging opportunities that strengthen the osteoporosis ecosystem and accelerate disease awareness, diagnosis, treatment, and fracture prevention.
- Lead above-brand market-shaping initiatives by aligning priorities across Marketing, Medical, Health Systems, Government Affairs, Corporate Communications, Advocacy, Value & Access, HEOR, and other key functions.
- Establish governance and integrated planning to align initiatives, partnerships, sponsorships, and investments around shared strategic priorities.
- Incubate innovative capabilities, evaluate impact, and transition mature initiatives to long-term business owners while identifying new opportunities for growth.
Lead National Partnerships & Ecosystem Leadership
- Build trusted relationships with national medical societies, advocacy organizations, professional associations, health systems, technology companies, policy organizations, and other influential stakeholders.
- Convene strategic coalitions and partnerships that advance shared priorities through education, advocacy, innovation, and implementation initiatives.
- Represent Amgen as a trusted enterprise partner committed to advancing the osteoporosis ecosystem.
- Monitor the external environment to identify new partnerships, collaborations, and market-shaping opportunities.
Lead Above-Brand Strategic Communications & Market Activation
- Develop enterprise above-brand communication and market activation strategies that elevate osteoporosis as a national healthcare priority.
- Shape evidence-based disease narratives that connect osteoporosis to broader conversations around women's health, menopause, healthy aging, longevity, and fracture prevention.
- Identify opportunities to leverage strategic communications, public awareness, partnerships, thought leadership, and emerging media to accelerate stakeholder engagement and market transformation.
- Partner across Brand Marketing, Corporate Communications, Medical, Advocacy, Government Affairs, Health Systems, Value & Access, and external agencies to ensure above-brand engagement strategies complement branded marketing while advancing enterprise priorities.
- Lead the strategy—and, as appropriate, the development and execution—of enterprise above-brand awareness and market activation initiatives.
Lead Innovation & Future Market Development
- With cross-functional partners, evaluate emerging trends, AI-enabled capabilities, technologies, and strategic partnerships to identify new opportunities that transform osteoporosis awareness, patient engagement, and care delivery.
- Translate external insights into business cases, pilot initiatives, and scalable enterprise strategies.
- Foster a culture of innovation by identifying opportunities that position Bone IMPACT to address future market needs.
Measure Impact & Optimize Strategy
- Define success measures that evaluate ecosystem impact, stakeholder engagement, partnership effectiveness, market activation, and strategic progress.
- Monitor performance and refine enterprise priorities based on market insights and measurable outcomes.
- Manage agency partners, external vendors, and program budgets to maximize impact and return on investment.
- Present strategic recommendations, market insights, and enterprise progress to senior leadership to inform business decisions and future investment priorities.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing, communications, public affairs, advocacy, commercial, medical, or related biotechnology experience
OR
Master's degree and7 years of marketing, communications, public affairs, advocacy, commercial, medical, or related biotechnology experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of marketing, communications, public affairs, advocacy, commercial, medical, or related biotechnology experience
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, MPH, MHA, or other advanced degree.
- 10+ years of progressively increasing responsibility within biotechnology, healthcare, advocacy, communications, consulting, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success developing enterprise or above-brand strategies that influence healthcare markets beyond individual products.
- Experience building strategic partnerships with national medical societies, advocacy organizations, health systems, policy organizations, technology companies, or other influential stakeholders.
- Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior leaders without direct authority.
- Understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including health systems, policy, advocacy, population health, quality improvement, and value-based care.
- Experience leading strategic communications, public awareness, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, or market activation initiatives within healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated ability to identify emerging opportunities and translate insights into innovative strategies and executable business plans.
- Demonstrated ability to develop market-shaping strategies while navigating legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and deliver results across multiple complex initiatives.
- Experience leading agencies, external partners, and cross-functional teams to achieve measurable business and patient impact.
