Business Performance Manager - Project Management

What you will do

In this vital role we are looking for a Business Performance Project Manager to join our team of leaders and liaisons, working on these high priority initiatives that drive value through simplification of Amgen’s largest, cross-functional, end-to-end processes.

The Business Performance Manager will partner with the RDO liaison / transformation lead on one or more transformation initiatives with a focus on speed to impact, disciplined project management, outcome delivery, and modernized approaches to problem-solving.

Operating Model

  • Design and facilitate a process to establish Operating Models for functions and cross-functional teams, including ways of working and governance

  • Codify the process with tools, templates and training for future utilization

  • Apply structured project management practices to ensure consistency and scalability of operating model changes.

Project Planning & Tracking

  • Create and maintain integrated schedules leveraging project management discipline to prioritize changes and manage end-to-end processes.

  • Identify, track, and communicate interdependencies while defining KPIs (e.g., costs, quality, NPS) to monitor process health and set improvement targets.

  • Monitor progress toward key project deliverables; proactively escalate risks and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve scheduling or resourcing challenges

  • Establish closed feedback loops to assess effectiveness of improvements and identify new opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Build strong working relationships with workstream leads, transformation leaders, and key stakeholders across the AI&D and enterprise organizations

  • Collect and integrate feedback from diverse stakeholder groups to continuously improve outputs and outcomes

  • Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution and delivery of project components

  • Influence mid-level leaders and support senior leader engagement with clear, concise analysis grounded in project management rigor.

Presentation & Workshop Development

  • Design and deliver workshop content that supports strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making activities

  • Lead or support facilitation of meetings and workshops, ensuring clear outcomes, engagement from participants, and alignment with project objectives

  • Prepare high-quality executive materials in partnership with senior leaders, highlighting project management progress, risks, and outcomes.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

Or

Master’s degree and 2 years of change management, project management, or business operations experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of change management, project management, or business operations experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 8 years of change management, project management, or business operations experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of change management, project management, or business operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in life science or business

  • Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry experience (preferred) or other sectors of healthcare industry

  • Demonstrated expertise in project management tools, methodologies, and practices, with the ability to apply them in complex, fast-changing environments.

  • Development and delivery of presentation and workshop materials

  • Experience working in fast-changing and often ambiguous environment

  • Experience defining KPIs (e.g., costs, quality, NPS) to track process health and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to integrate data needs into technology builds (automation preferred).

  • Proven success influencing cross-functional teams and mid-level leaders to accelerate decision-making.

  • Strong ability to execute with project management discipline while iterating solutions quickly.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
