Assoc Dir Strategic Planning & Operations– US Value & Access
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will provide strategic and operational support to VP, US Value & Access, ED, Value & Access and the leadership team as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Work closely across US Value & Access (US V&A) teams to deliver against USV&A strategic priorities & support cross-functional business objectives as assigned.
Provide support to US V&A LT, including partnering to drive and project manage functional projects spanning key initiatives across gross to net, technology and workforce strategy, etc.
Draft communication plans and contribute to synthesis of key insights and presentation development across organization for diverse audiences (e.g., commercial & enterprise leadership, all-staff fora, QBR).
Partner with functional leads and collaborate with other functions to identify and drive resolution of issues, build arguments, generate plans, and deliver results.
Act as a sounding board / advisor to leadership key activities and issues.
Help facilitate goal setting and tracking and reporting out of progress.
As applicable and appropriate, represent USV&A strategy and guide the activities of key business partners in support of objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners; proactively communicating, seeking advice, and facilitating critical business decisions.
Lead and facilitate key departmental meetings (e.g., Senior Leadership Teams and All Staff meetings).
Lead USV&A annual budgeting process
Support resource strategy efforts, skills-building and development initiatives, and operational management of headcount
What we expect of you

The planning and operations professional we seek will serve as a strategic partner to the USV&A leadership team in identifying, executing against, and tracking progress for key functional objectives. They understand the nuanced dynamics of the US healthcare system and the challenges and opportunities that presents to Amgen in serving patients. They are an expert project manager able to coordinate multiple ongoing initiatives simultaneously with a high degree of operational excellence and attention to detail. They are a highly effective written and verbal communicator that can tailor approach appropriately to different audiences and synthesize key insights effectively for senior leaders. They are both willing to jump in and get things done and able to collaborate and delegate effectively.
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Strategy consulting experience and overall mindset/approach
Experience in value & access/market access landscape
Strategic thinking and tactical execution skills
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and experience in facilitating workshops and group meetings.
Strong executive presence: ability to engage different personalities and levels within the organization, particularly senior and executive management.
Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts.
The ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing, fast-moving, matrix environment with little oversight.
Outstanding time management and self-prioritization skills
Shown success in Change Management
Financial budgeting and variance reporting experience.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
