  • Limited agility in creating dashboards and visualizations on demand.

The Senior Manager will partner closely with Technology, TXO, Commercial, Medical, and Finance functions in addition to O-US BAI team to advance data accessibility, governance, and utilization across Amgen Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee data management of Japan’s datasets within the JAPAC MDM and Data Lake environments, ensuring governance, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Manage local dashboards by coordinating design, maintenance, and user enablement to ensure high usability and accessibility.
  • Lead the creation of systems and workflows that enable insight generation through the integration and analysis of multiple data sources.
  • Build and maintain strong collaboration with global and regional data teams to align Japan’s data initiatives with enterprise strategy.
  • Drive data literacy and culture change across the organization by promoting the use of data for decision-making.
  • Develop and manage a roadmap for data strategy and analytics capabilities, balancing short-term business needs with long-term scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to identify opportunities for automation, data visualization, and AI-powered analytics.

This role reports to the Director, Business Excellence, and plays a central part in transforming Amgen Japan into a truly data-driven organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in data management, analytics, or business intelligence within the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Proven experience in data governance, master data management (MDM), and dashboard development.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data infrastructure (e.g., data lakes, SQL, cloud-based environments).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at multiple organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or Business Analytics.
  • Deep expertise in data management methodologies and hands-on experience implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to translate data into strategic business insights that drive organizational decisions.
  • Strong belief in the power of data to enable organizational transformation and demonstrated experience in change management.
  • Hands-on experience in data analysis, predictive modeling, or AI/ML applications.
  • Experience working within global organizations and collaborating with regional data teams.
  • Strong curiosity and proactive mindset to explore new data tools, AI capabilities, and best practices in data-driven operations.
