Value and Access Insights Associate Director, Obesity

What you will do

In this vital role you will partner with Global and US Value & Access, US Coverage & Pricing, Market Access, Patient Access, MariTide US commercial team, and CD&A to deliver business analytics, dashboards, and launch-ready tools to assist the MariTide Coverage & Pricing leads with deal modeling, segmentation, pull-through and price elasticity capabilities at launch.   

In the face of a US health care system growing more complex day-by-day, we must constantly adapt and evolve our strategies to ensure our patients have appropriate access to our medicines.  The US Value & Access (V&A) Insights Associate Director will play a critical role in monitoring, diagnosing, and addressing payer obstacles and challenges.  In this role, you will partner with US Payer Marketing teams to build a deep understanding of the US managed markets environment for Obesity products.  You will provide integrated analysis combining multiple primary and secondary data sources to uncover deep insights that will guide payer, access, and reimbursement strategies.   

Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA office. You will work on-site a minimum of 2 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Build upon existing, targeted payer control deep-dive analyses (e.g. CVS Zepbound exclusion, oral steps) and integrate into weekly NBRx/TRx tracking 
  • Evaluate partner capabilities to generate and share actionable pricing, coverage, demand and affordability data to inform coverage and pricing strategies for reimbursed segment 
  • Build Obesity-specific modules within US V&A contracting deal modeling platforms (Contracting-IQ), building on efforts in 1H ’26 to incorporate Obesity market data into the analog library 
  • Triangulate data sources (Clarivate, MMIT, partner data) to refine employer segmentation and targeting 
  • Design and build Employer-specific modules within Contracting-IQ to support direct employer contracting 
  • Build CAP-AI for Obesity for dynamic copay / patient access support, including interplay with cash 
  • Partner with Payer Marketing and Pricing/Contracting and Brand Marketing teams to build and prioritize analytics and insights plan in support of value and access strategy for MariTide. 
  • Understand pharmaceutical ecosystem and data sets including medical and pharmacy claims (ex. IQVIA LAAD, Symphony Claims), prescription (ex. IQVIA NPA), outlet (ex. IQVIA DDD) and Payor Coverage (MMIT, Clarivate)

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 3 years in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering (any), Science (any), Statistics or related field 

OR

Master’s degree and 5 years in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering (any), Science (any), Statistics or related field 

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 7 years in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering (any), Science (any), Statistics or related field 

OR

Associate’s degree and 12 years in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering (any), Science (any), Statistics or related field 

OR

High school diploma / GED and 14 years in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering (any), Science (any), Statistics or related field 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with new product / indication launch especially in cardio or metabolic disease area  
  • Working experience on Analytics of products with Pharmacy benefit usage. 
  • Understanding of PBM account/formulary structure and contracting process 
  • Prior experience in contracts and pricing, direct payer experience or value marketing and have a good foundational understanding of the US payer environment and a strong foundation in the U.S. healthcare market 
  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to 
  • vaguely defined problems, pragmatic problem-solving approach, and manage execution 
  • Exceptional written/oral communication skills and executive presence across functions and across different levels of leadership 
  • Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses 
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles 
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, health care, and/or strategy consulting with specific experience and expertise in coverage, access and reimbursement drivers impacting the biopharmaceutical industry 
  • High degree of analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Exhibits strong understanding of business strategies

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
