Supply Chain Director, Integrated Business Planning (IBP)

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for the enterprise orchestration of Amgen’s Integrated Business Planning process. This role ensures alignment across demand, supply, finance, and strategy to enable informed decision-making, optimize performance, and support the company’s F12Q growth and strategic objectives.

The Director will also be responsible to advance IBP maturity across the enterprise, strengthen decision-making rigor and enable executive leadership with clear insights, scenarios, and recommendations in a highly regulated, portfolio-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

IBP Orchestration & Execution

  • Lead the enterprise Integrated Business Planning cycle, ensuring timely, high-quality execution across all horizons (operational, tactical, and strategic).

  • Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration among Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, and other key stakeholders.

  • Ensure consistent integration of demand, supply, inventory, and financial plans into a single, aligned operating plan.

  • Drive scenario planning, risk/opportunity assessment, and trade-off analysis to support executive decision-making.

IBP Maturity & Continuous Improvement

  • Assess current IBP capabilities and define a clear roadmap to advance IBP maturity in line with best-in-class standards.

  • Champion process standardization, analytics enhancement, and technology enablement to improve planning effectiveness and transparency.

  • Embed a culture of fact-based, data-driven decision-making across the planning organization.

  • Identify and implement improvements that increase agility, resilience, and responsiveness of the business.

Governance & Executive Engagement

  • Establish and maintain IBP governance structures, including clear decision rights, escalation paths, and accountability.

  • Prepare and facilitate executive IBP forums, ensuring clear insights, recommendations, and alignment on key decisions.

  • Act as the single point of accountability for IBP outcomes, ensuring adherence to governance standards and cadence.

  • Partner with senior leaders to set priorities and drive timely decisions.

Leadership & Stakeholder Influence

  • Lead, mentor, and develop IBP and planning talent, fostering strong business acumen and cross-functional thinking.

  • Influence without authority in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Build strong relationships across the enterprise to drive alignment and sustained engagement in IBP processes.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree + 4 years experience in supply chain, operations, finance, or planning
OR
Master’s degree + 7 years experience in supply chain, operations, finance, or planning
OR
Bachelor’s degree + 9 years experience in supply chain, operations, finance, or planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree

  • Experience in biopharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries

  • Demonstrated expertise in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) / S&OP, including executive governance

  • Proven track record of advancing IBP maturity and enabling enterprise decision-making

  • Experience leading cross-functional, enterprise-wide planning or governance processes

  • Experience operating in a complex, highly regulated environment

  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership

  • Strong financial acumen and portfolio-level thinking / Finance background

  • Experience with advanced planning systems, analytics, and digital enablement

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
