Supplier Relationship Management Manager

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for leading a group of small to medium-sized supplier relationships. This includes leading supplier engagement and cross-functional teams with clear accountability for performance to ensure the supply, quality, and cost of raw materials from our global network of suppliers consistently meets the needs of our manufacturing operations. The Supplier Relationship Manager will also work with a cross-functional team and external supplier network to lead various initiatives to advance the Single-use raw material category strategy. Lastly, the role includes driving continuous improvement to optimize current ways of working.

  • Lead a group of small to mid-sized supplier relationships.

  • Lead or support raw material issue resolution and problem solving.

  • Manage executive critical issues and communication, as needed.

  • Apply the knowledge, skills, tools of project management / Operational Excellence (OE) to ensure optimal execution of strategic and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage multiple cross-functional raw material onboarding and operational excellence projects of medium to high complexity including scheduling and facilitating meetings, documenting actions, driving decision making and handling customer issues of roadblocks.

  • Actively oversee forecasting, capacity planning and project management.

  • Coordinate securing supplier documentation, creation of and updating material onboarding related documents.

  • Project management of resource planning, generating metrics/ critical metrics and presentation materials for management reviews and governance meetings.

  • May include analysis and publication of monthly performance metrics for the Single Use category.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects that deliver measurable gain in supply reliability, quality performance, and efficiency.

  • Build and maintain a vast network of collaborators across all drug substance and drug product sites.

  • Contribute to Raw Materials external intelligence insights including assessment of industry trends, technology advancement, and supplier landscape.

  • Travel 10%: Domestic and International

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of Quality, Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing

experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Quality, Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing

experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 8 years of Quality, Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing

experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Quality, Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, and influencing skills vertically and horizontally with integrity.  Process oriented with business acumen.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and writing skills.

  • Managed and led medium to complex projects, comfortable with change and uncertainty.

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Knowledge of business principles, product development and commercialization or R&D in a life science, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device cGMP environment.

  • GMP environment work experience and thorough understanding of biological/chemistry technology transfer processes and timelines.

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of tools within MS Office, Smartsheet, ThinkCell, and other software programs.

  • Strong organizational skills, strategic networking, self-motivation, collaboration and flexibility.

  • Has demonstrated the courage and ability to solve technical problems and challenges in teams.

  • Has proven communication skills (presents confidently and convincingly at all level of the organization).

  • Expert skills in lead and managing people and team’s management of diverse cultures and geographic locations, conflict resolution with diplomacy.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
