We are seeking a motivated Senior Scientist in mass spectrometry–based proteomics to join our talented and collaborative team in Thousand Oaks, CA. In this vital role, you will deliver critical insights to support target identification and drug discovery, while advancing innovative proteomics platform technologies. 

You will contribute to both pipeline advancement and screening platform innovation by developing and implementing cutting-edge, high-throughput proteomics approaches. This includes executing automated sample preparation and mass spectrometry analyses across a range of assays, as well as designing, optimizing, and continuously enhancing next-generation screening workflows and analytical platforms. 

This role requires hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting high-throughput mass spectrometry systems. Your work will play a key role in enabling innovative drug screening strategies, accelerating discovery efforts, and strengthening pipeline support. 

  • Design, develop, and optimize high-throughput mass spectrometry–based proteomics workflows and screening platforms to accelerate drug discovery  
  • Execute automated sample preparation and LC-MS/MS analysis across a broad range of high-throughput proteomics assays  
  • Collaborate closely with chemistry, biology, and disease area teams as a technical and scientific subject matter expert, contributing to data-driven decision-making  
  • Perform data analysis and generate insights into mechanism of action, target engagement, and selectivity using proteomics approaches 
  • Present research findings at internal and external meetings and effectively communicate plans, results, and analyses to cross-functional teams  
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of experiments, protocols, and analyses 

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Senior Scientist we seek is a scientifically driven, collaborative, and innovative proteomics expert.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) with relevant experience OR 
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of directly related experience OR 
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of directly related experience  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in proteomics, chemoproteomics, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline  
  • Strong track record in developing mass spectrometry–based proteomics assays, operating advanced platforms (e.g., Orbitrap Astral), and analyzing proteomics data  
  • Experience with sample preparation miniaturization and automation platforms  
  • 3+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry  
  • Demonstrated innovation in assay, method, or platform development 
  • Strong quantitative and computational expertise in high-dimensional proteomics data analysis  
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly integrated, collaborative team environment, with excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and a proven track record of producing reliable and reproducible results. 
  • Knowledge of targeted protein degradation or E3 ligase biology is a plus

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
