Senior Manager, US Field Sales Data & Reporting Capabilities

What you will do

The US Field Excellence team provides guidance and support to the sales organization by optimizing the field experience through Field Effectiveness, Field Insights and Reporting, Incentive Compensation, Field Operations, and Field Systems and Capabilities Transformation. This Program Manager and Capability Lead role is instrumental in driving commercial success by advancing our capabilities related to enabling field intelligence through US Commercial Field Data & Reporting.

In this vital role as theSenior Manager, US Field Sales Data & Reporting Capabilitieswill serve as a strategic program manager and capability owner across our US Commercial Field Data & Reporting capabilities, which includes, but is not limited to, our ability to deliver field intelligence through our Field Reporting Visualization capability, our Pre-Call Planning capability, and our Rep Alerts/Rep Suggestions capability. These capabilities are instrumental to supporting effective customer engagement and execution by our field sales teams.

Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA or Deerfield, IL office. You will work on-site 2 to 3 days a week.

Strategic Program Management and Capability Leadership

  • Define the overall goals and desired outcomes of Field Data & Reporting capabilities that drive improved field intelligence and insights
  • Define and drive a cohesive capability vision and roadmap for how field data and insights/intelligence are delivered across platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives and user needs
  • Lead end-to-end program management of capability initiatives—from planning, to scoping and requirements gathering, to build/test/launch, to evolution and optimization
  • Develop and maintain detailed program plans, governance structures, risk management and mitigation strategies, collaborator communication cadences, and achievement tracking
  • Establish appropriate ways-of-working across a cross-functional team, improving communication, collaboration, and consistency/clarity on initiatives and deliverables across Field Data & Reporting capabilities
  • Establish frameworks for prioritizing enhancements, managing technical dependencies, and aligning collaborators across Commercial Data & Analytics (CD&A), Business Stakeholders, and Commercial Technology

Field Data & Reporting Platform and Capability Ownership

  • Own the strategic direction and lifecycle of our Field Data and Reporting platforms, including but not limited to, the Field Reporting visualization platform (currently Tableau + Curator), CRM-integrated Pre-Call Planning insights (currently within Veeva CRM), and additional data/insights delivery mechanisms such as Alerts/Suggestions within CRM. Please note, as technologies continue to evolve and business needs change, the above platforms likely will evolve as well
  • Oversee development teams and vendors in partnership with Commercial Tech to ensure accurate, scalable, and timely solutions
  • Ensure usability, consistency, and integration of all field-facing data and reporting capabilities into rep workflows (e.g., call planning, territory management)
  • Proactively address data integrity issues that could impact field trust and effectiveness

Rep Alerts/Suggestions Program Management

  • Lead the design, delivery, and continuous optimization of the Rep Alerts/Suggestions program—turning data into timely, actionable resourceful insights for field execution
  • Coordinate across a cross-functional team (including business partners, analytics, Field Effectiveness, Commercial Data Strategy, Decision Sciences, Compliance, and Commercial Technology, etc.) to refine alert logic, audience segmentation, delivery cadence, alert rules and guardrails, and other alert features
  • Define and monitor KPIs to ensure behavioral and business impact

Overall Change Management & Field Enablement

  • In partnership with Field Effectiveness, drive comprehensive change management strategies, including communications and training, field readiness planning, and adoption campaigns for various Field Data & Reporting capabilities
  • Drive adoption by ensuring tools are intuitive, value-driving, and embedded in field culture and workflows

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish documented standards to ensure scalable delivery frameworks
  • Establish standard support procedures to ensure operational excellence
  • Monitor capability usage, satisfaction, and business impact—and drive enhancements accordingly
  • Understand the evolving technology landscape and define a roadmap and plan that uses new technology to enhance field intelligence through advancement of our Field Data & Reporting capabilities

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in sales operations, sales force effectiveness, commercial data and technology, or life sciences management consulting, within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

OR

Master’s degree and 4 years of experience in sales operations, sales force effectiveness, commercial data and technology, or life sciences management consulting, within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years experience in sales operations, sales force effectiveness, commercial data and technology, or life sciences management consulting, within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years experience in sales operations, sales force effectiveness, commercial data and technology, or life sciences management consulting, within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years experience in sales operations, sales force effectiveness, commercial data and technology, or life sciences management consulting, within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Success in leading complex cross-functional programs that span data, technology, and user experience domains
  • Strong organizational skills, being able to handle multiple deadlines, teams, and deliverables across projects
  • Expertise in field sales platforms and systems such as Tableau, Veeva CRM, and data alerting tools
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, supportable technical requirements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels, from field users to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated success driving adoption and change management in complex collaborator environments
  • Skilled in vendor management, budget oversight, and technical delivery monitoring
  • Experience with agile program delivery, capability governance, and continuous improvement frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead and influence, inspiring teams, making quick decisions, and gaining agreement from partners
  • Transformative yet pragmatic—able to manage short-term execution aligned to current business needs while building long-term strategic value
  • Excellent communication skills and able to convey complex ideas clearly to technical teams, executives, and partners

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
