What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this high-impact role, you will lead development of new access segments and innovative go-to-market models in the U.S., expanding how Amgen delivers value to employers, partners, and patients.

You will define and execute Direct-to-Employer strategies, build differentiated value propositions, and identify strategic partners that enable innovative access solutions. This leader will operate with an enterprise mindset—bringing external perspective, testing new models, and embedding capabilities across the organization.  You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to design, pilot, and scale novel access strategies while supporting executive leadership on high-priority innovation initiatives.  In addition, you will play a key role in defining processes and integrating capabilities across the Global and US Value & Access organizations to elevate team performance.

Your ability to understand big picture business challenges and the data and analytics implications of solutioning against them will be critical to your success in this role, as will an ability to independently move through ambiguity and think creatively to define innovative solutions. You are a highly effective communicator and storyteller, ensuring the potential impact of the team’s work is understood and resonates with cross-functional commercial leadership.

  • Design and pilot innovative go-to-market and access models, including partnering with third parties to enable access for patients living with overweight/obesity, beyond traditional payer/PBM segments.
  • Lead Direct-to-Employer strategy development, including segmentation, partner selection, and engagement/diligence with external partners.
  • Develop and articulate a compelling Employer Value Story aligned to business and patient needs.  Provide guidance to Value Marketing teams to ensure external-facing value communications support execution of the strategy.
  • Identify synergistic go-to-market models across market segments (payer, point solution provider, employer, direct to patient), and collaborate with Access Strategy Leads focused on Cash Pay and Payer/PBM segments.
  • Articulate the Obesity Access Strategy within and across new market segments (e.g., employer), competitive positioning, and implications for broader U.S. Commercial priorities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Patient Support, Marketing, Pricing & Contracting, Legal, and other enterprise stakeholders to align commercial strategy with broader business objectives.
  • Translate segment and account specific objectives into forecast assumptions (coverage, price, persistence/adherence) and develop key performance indicators.
  • Own select strategic Value & Access partnerships and maintain external innovation relationships.
  • Develop frameworks and operating standards for access segments within the Value & Access – Obesity and Related Conditions team.
  • Embed innovation capabilities and related insights / data analytics across the organization to enable scalable impact.
  • Support Executive Director and senior leadership on strategic innovation initiatives and cross-portfolio projects.
  • Oversee resource prioritization to ensure timely and effective delivery.
