Duties: Lead the US commercial Data Platform at Amgen as a business owner for two therapeutic areas (TAs), overseeing operations of the platform including data governance, data quality and hygiene, and administration of the platform to support data driven decision making; Oversee onboarding and setting up new data sources and data sets for Analytics, reporting, Incentive Compensation in support of existing brands as well as for new product launches; Develop data services capabilities such as the integration of data from varied internal sources, data from external stakeholders and enable data science and artificial Intelligence/machine learning capabilities to provide insights and address business problems; Develop analytics applications and collaborate with software engineers to develop data processing pipelines for large datasets using AWS and Databricks services and then use languages such as python, SQL, pySpark to program business rules; Product Owner for platform enhancement requests from cross functional stakeholders including Analytics teams, Data Sciences, Forecasting and Field Force Effectiveness, leading cross functional prioritization and end-to-end implementation of the deliverables; Collaborate with the other engineering team members to architect data products and services and to ensure all services are secure, reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated into our existing platforms; Lead collaborative efforts with Data Architects, Business SMEs, and Data Scientists to innovate and optimize our data ecosystem, enhancing customer support and scaling our architecture for future growth, while exploring and piloting new tools and techniques; Review use cases, requirements and technical designs to identify areas of risk and write technical specifications, flow charts and architectural diagrams for solutions; and Lead new capabilities of the Data Platforms, including but not limited to, requests that have an impact on multiple domains in pharma (ex. Medical, commercial, compliance, etc.). May telecommute.
Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Applied Data Science, Mathematics or related field & 3 years of experience in the following:
1. Commercial data and analytics domain, and knowledge of pharmaceutical data sets such as patient-level data sets, sales data sets (XPO and DDD, chargebacks, prescription and demand datasets, and vendor data), claims datasets (SHS and IQVIA), Field activity, and Speaker Programs;
2. Implementing projects using Agile Methodology;
3. Data Engineering, Data Ingestion, Data Integration, Prototyping and Reporting utilizing tools and programming languages including SQL, Python, Tableau, and Qlikview;
4. Analyzing large scale relational databases, and extracting and manipulating data sets using data analysis tools and languages including SQL, Tableau, R language, Python, Excel, Jupyter Notebook and VS-Code;
5. Implementing AI/Machine Learning libraries and building predictive models, using libraries - pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, XGBoost, Matplotlib and statsmodel;
6. Leveraging big data management platforms to integrate diverse datasets within the life sciences industry to enable insights for sales and marketing operations and to facilitate customer engagement analytics; and
7. Data modeling, architecture and solution design and performance tuning and optimization.

Job type: Full Time position. The annual salary range for this position in the U.S. is $121,680.00 - $143,771.58 per year. Also, this position offers stock, retirement, medical, life and disability insurance and eligibility for an annual bonus or for sales roles, other incentive compensation. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
