CD&A - Senior Manager, Media Data Acquisition & Governance
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will lead Amgen’s media data acquisition and governance strategy, ensuring that data from agencies and publishers is accurate, compliant, and effectively leveraged to drive commercial and marketing insights.
This role partners cross-functionally with Amgen’s Media Agency of Record, Commercial Data & Analytics (CD&A), Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI), Marketing, and Procurement to ensure Amgen maintains strategic control of its media and publisher data assets. The successful candidate will define the strategic framework for media data governance and acquisition, ensuring alignment to Amgen’s enterprise data standards and enabling actionable analytics across campaigns and channels.
Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA or Deerfield, IL office. You will work on-site a minimum of 2-3 days a week.
- Lead the development and execution of the media data acquisition and governance strategy to ensure Amgen’s media and publisher data assets support enterprise analytics, performance measurement and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with Media, Marketing, Commercial Data & Analytics (CD&A), Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI) and agency/publisher partners to define data requirements, negotiate deliverables and ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Legal to negotiate data rights, usage terms and access requirements within media contracts, protecting Amgen’s long-term data ownership and strategic flexibility.
- Define and oversee media data governance frameworks, policies and standards, aligning with Amgen’s global commercial data governance principles and ensuring compliance with relevant privacy and security regulations.
- Partner with operational governance teams to ensure data lineage, metadata standards, and compliance processes are consistently applied across media data sources and platforms.
- Provide strategic governance oversight and partner with data operations teams to ensure vendor performance, data quality and compliance with enterprise standards.
- Monitor governance KPIs and maturity indicators to assess adherence to policies, escalate data quality or compliance risks, and identify opportunities to automate controls and improve efficiency.
- Serve as the strategic liaison across Media, Marketing, CD&A, DTI and Global Commercial Operations; translate business priorities into data governance initiatives and support measurement, attribution and analytics enablement.
- Stay current on media and ad-tech ecosystem developments including privacy regulations, identity frameworks and clean-room solutions; proactively assess implications and recommend roadmap updates for Amgen’s media data strategy.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in data acquisition, digital media, data governance or analytics, ideally within a regulated industry
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of experience in data acquisition, digital media, data governance or analytics, ideally within a regulated industry
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in data acquisition, digital media, data governance or analytics, ideally within a regulated industry
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience in data acquisition, digital media, data governance or analytics, ideally within a regulated industry
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in data acquisition, digital media, data governance or analytics, ideally within a regulated industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in data acquisition, digital media, data governance or analytics, ideally within a regulated industry.
- Proven experience working with media agencies, publishers and vendors on data deliverables, negotiations and performance accountability.
- Strong understanding of media data ecosystems (e.g., ad servers, DSPs, SSPs, clean rooms) and ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Familiarity with data privacy, compliance and risk management frameworks as they relate to digital/media data in regulated industries.
- Strategic mindset with strong operational execution ability.
- Experience in Media data acquisition.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, able to translate data/technical issues into business-focused insights.
- Strong project leadership, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
- Highly accountable and results-oriented, with a collaborative and inclusive mindset.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
