We currently have an opportunity in the Process Development Business Strategy Integration (BSi) group for a Manager, Business Performance who will help to drive tactical and strategic support of Capital and Operating Expense systems and processes in Process Development. Process Development is responsible for enabling commercialization of the product pipeline, product lifecycle management, and technical manufacturing support of Amgen commercial products. BSi improves Process Development’s ability to deliver on the highest value opportunities by bridging the business of Amgen and the science of PD through cross-functional alignment and integrated business insights. We do this through 5 strategic pillars:
Data and Systems, Insights and Decision Support, Productivity and Financials, and (4) Operational Strategy.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the BSi PD group. The successful candidate will drive & manage strategy & execution of capital investments across Process Development. Working with our business partners and PD functional groups & leadership, this person will manage capital planning activities. Finally, the successful candidate will build, own and manage relationships & processes related to PD Procure to Pay (P2P) support, as well as provide ad hoc P2P support, as needed.
Strategic Development: Lead the development of effective strategies to achieve PD’s mission, vision, and goals by collaborating with senior leadership and staff across Process Development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional business partners, planners, and scientific staff to ensure seamless planning and execution of capital purchasing and implementation.
Project & Priority Management: Manage multiple assignments effectively, ensuring prioritization and timely execution of deliverables
Data-Driven Decision Making: Perform high-quality data analyses to support PD capital investment decisions, including lifecycle management.
Communication: Synthesize and present analytical insights and recommendations to PD senior management and functional groups.
Project & Priority Management: Manage multiple assignments effectively, ensuring prioritization and timely execution of deliverables.
Program Development and Management: Develop and manage processes and relationships for Insourced Service Provider support for Procure to Pay activities across PD
Ad Hoc P2P support: Provide P2P support for critical projects, as needed
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree and 2 years of engineering, science or business management experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of engineering, science or business management experience OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of engineering, science or business management experience OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of engineering, science or business management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Lab Operations
Expertise with Ariba, SAP, and other Procure to Pay systems
Experience with Amgen’s capital processes, especially Investment Lifecycle Management (ILM)
Consistent track record of leading complex projects from inception to completion
Consistent track record of building and managing cross-functional and business partner relationships
Strong understanding of financial processes
Proactive and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges related to project deliverables, in a dynamic business environment
Skilled in analyzing complex data sets to extract actionable business insights, using advanced analytics techniques to drive decision-making
Project management experience and skills in reviewing and understanding timelines based on cross-functional inputs and assumptions
Good eye for business, high-level critical thinking and strong analytical skills
Ability to multitask; prioritize, plan, and follow through on multiple projects
Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally while acting independently to deliver on time
Strong written and presentation skills, especially for senior leadership
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with an ability to drive decisions
Leadership skills, organizational and project management experience
Experience with reporting and visualization tools, including Smartsheet and Tableau

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
