Specialist Software Engineer

Duties: Define, develop, and implement scalable, secure, high-performance software features and services in a fast-paced and agile development environment on the Model N Revenue Cloud platform. Develop and maintain APIs and integrations across SAP Payment processing, AWS Redshift, Databricks, and Mulesoft following industry best practices and Amgen's coding standards. Work with Product Managers and Product Owners to understand product requirements and vision. Translate requirements and vision into a prioritized list of user stories and deliver within agile timelines and quality standards. Collaborate with product owners and architects to develop multi-generation software technology plans. Plan for library end of life timelines, ensuring timely updates for stability and security. Drive increased efficiency across teams, eliminating duplication and leveraging product and technology reuse and advocate for scalability. Support process improvements that guide development, sustaining, and support activities. Ensure world-class quality in the development and support of products. Adhere to compliance and audit requirements for software systems operating in a regulated financial, healthcare and pharmaceutical environment. Apply principles of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring, and Testing Techniques. Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the selected technology for the project. Proactively share knowledge across the team with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness through peer reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring. May telecommute.   

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems or related field and 6 years of experience in job offered or a technology-related occupation. Position requires 6 years of experience in the following:  

1. Cloud services platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Salesforce and Databricks with understanding of architected cloud design principles; 

2. Developing and maintaining design systems with full stack software development; 

3. Programming languages including JavaScript, Python, C++, Java, SQL and NoSQL; 

4. Relational Data Base Management System including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and version control including Gitlab; 

5. RESTful API, Web Services and Microservices architecture; 

6. Databricks, Mulesoft, S3, Lambda, Redshift and Docker; 

7. Agile and SAFe methodologies principles; and 

8. Pharmaceutical contracting, pricing execution and gross-to-net (GTN) forecasting and reporting in healthcare and life science industry.

Job type: Full-Time position. The annual salary range for this position in the U.S. is $145,642.00 - $152,112.00 per year. Also, this position offers stock, retirement, medical, life and disability insurance and eligibility for an annual bonus or for sales roles, other incentive compensation. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
