What you will do

Following an internal promotion, Amgen Taiwan seeks an ambitious, strategic, and high-impact leader to tackle the role of Oncology Hematology Business Unit Head- a key position that will shape the future of our fastest growing and most diverse portfolio spanning solid tumors, hematology, and rare diseases. Over the next five years, OHBU is expected to launch 1-2 new therapies every year, bringing innovation to patients at an accelerated pace.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and serving as a core member of the Amgen Taiwan Leadership Team, the OHBU Head will hold full P&L responsibility, oversee sales and marketing, and work in close partnership with market access, medical, regulatory, and other local/regional/global stakeholders. This role demands a seasoned enterprise leader who can operate at scale, build impactful teams, navigate the dynamic and complex oncology access environment, and can help shape Amgen Taiwan’s next era of innovation-led growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vision and Direction Setting: Establish a clear and aspirational vision and strategic roadmap for your business unit, optimally communicating and sharing that vision to gain support and followership.

  • Strategy Development: Ensure development, implementation, and execution of comprehensive strategies informed by a deep understanding of patients, customers, the environment, and future trends.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure implementation of robust operational plans that increase opportunities, are aligned with strategy, deliver favorable returns, and ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Lead with Purpose and Cultivate the Best Culture: Encourage and develop a high-performing BU by embedding a coaching, providing continuous feedback, and cultivating key talent.  Foster a compliant, outcomes-driven culture that emphasizes accountability, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to accelerating access to innovative treatments.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with cross-functional teams across Taiwan and the region to develop and implement complex initiatives, advance strategic plans, pressure test current thinking, and collectively help to shape our healthcare ecosystem.

  • External Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including HCPs, medical centers, policy makers, and government institutions, building trust and positioning Amgen as a committed partner.

  • Driving Market Access Strategy: Strategically shape the access landscape by cultivating strong relationships with external stakeholders. Lead strategic decision-making on market expansion, launch of new indications, and optimal access pathways including reimbursement and self-pay models.

  • Sales & Marketing Excellence: Guide/mentor the OHBU marketing head and sales managers to strengthen capabilities and grow in role. Oversee forecasts, align territories, set targets, ensure robust brand plans, and oversee sales/marketing effectiveness and performance.

  • P&L Ownership: Oversee and manage your P&L effectively, aligning resource allocation closely with strategic priorities and financial goals. Ensure each dollar invested is enhanced for greatest impact.

  • Ethics & Compliance Champion: Ensure ethical behavior and compliance remain central in all decisions and operations, encouraging an inclusive and respectful team environment aligned with what we value.

What we expect of you

Qualifications

  • Degree in Life Science and/or Business Administration, MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in marketing, sales, and operational leadership roles with growing level of responsibility in pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Launch experience required.

  • At least 5 years building and leading successful teams. Previous pharma sales team management experience a plus.

  • Strong experience in oncology, preferably in Lung and CRC.

  • Deep understanding of Taiwan’s access and reimbursement landscape.

  • Proficient, and able to present, in English.

  • Strong at strategy execution, analytical skill, problem solving, decision making and communication.

  • Authentic leadership at team engagement, talent management and change management

  • Efficient collaboration and teamwork with internal and external collaborator.

  • High standard of ethics and compliance.

  • Demonstrates a winning mentality and a strong desire to shape the future of healthcare in Taiwan.
