What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world by providing Field-based medical expertise in the scientific exchange of accurate, clear, and valued information regarding Amgen’s Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) and Cardiovascular products to multiple medical and scientific stakeholders.  You will be responsible for providing field insights in New South Wales, South Australia and ACT to internal stakeholders and supporting the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Lead and product Medical Advisor to develop territory Medical Affairs tactics.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage physicians, other healthcare professionals (HCPs), and non-HCP stakeholders through scientific exchange to advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen’s objectives

  • Develop and maintain HCP stakeholder lists and scientific engagement plans

  • Participate in medical and brand teams to support the ideation and development of patient- and HCP-centric strategies and programs

  • Support the creation of omnichannel HCP engagement plans

  • Execute the therapeutic area scientific engagement plan

  • Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders

  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with Amgen policies and Medicines Australia Code of Conduct

  • Support speaker training and ensure speakers are updated on new data

  • Support Amgen sponsored research and liaised with investigators in non-sponsored clinical research

  • Lead and support educational and congress activities

  • Maintain clinical acumen and expertise and timely completion of assigned training

  • Support therapeutic training of cross-functional colleagues

  • Lead and/or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies

  • Compliantly collaborate with cross-functional colleagues

  • Mentor team new hires

What we expect from you

Required qualifications and experience

  • Medical or scientific degree

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industry or related scientific field in academia or clinical practice

  • Understanding of the clinical, hospital environment and patient journey in the management of the relevant disease

  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment governing the healthcare and biopharmaceutical industry

  • Application of the principles of Medicines Australia Code of Conduct

  • Ability and willingness to travel as required by role requirements

  • Possesses valid driver’s license

Preferred qualifications and experience

  • Minimum 2 years in a MSL role

  • Doctoral (MD, PharmD, PhD) or master’s degree in the sciences or demonstration of equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional training

  • Experience of working within the relevant therapeutic area; Ophthalmology, Endocrinology, Cardiology

  • Experience in a Medical Affairs or Clinical Development function

  • Proficient user of digital platforms to reach and engage stakeholders
