What you will do
This role resides within ASM Supply Chain and is responsible for the Warehouse & Transportation domain. The incumbent is responsible and accountable to ensure that the execution of all the activities within the domain complies with GMP requirement. Incumbent is also responsible to ensure that the domain is always in a state of inspection readiness. A solid experience in one or several core functions within pharmaceutical / Biologic Operations (Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations, Distribution, and Quality Control) would be critical. The candidate must have a very good understanding of the impact of GMP regulations, operational experiences and possess a strong strategic mindset and leadership attributes. It is also essential for the candidate to be a self-starter and comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Main responsibilities
Management Objectives:
- Advance ASM as a safe work environment
- People development where direct reports improve their performance and potential over time
- Define and achieve optimal organizational future (i.e. people, process, systems, etc) for domain working closely with the team and management
- Lead by example by exhibiting Amgen values and Leadership attributes
- Serve as one of the primary interfaces with stakeholders from the site and the network. Strong collaboration and best practice knowledge sharing are key
- Ensure that the activities of the domain are driven safely and compliant with respect to GMP and other regulatory requirements
- Develop and execute strategies in their domain that supports the overall Supply Chain Strategy.
- Drives Operations Excellence Culture in the organization via the deployment of various OE tools resulting in productivity gains
Drive Performance Improvements:
- Develop and manage Lead Logistics Service Providers, External Warehouse Providers, & Transportation Service Providers and be accountable for their service performance
- Ensure that domain monthly KPIs are met
- Ensure flawless execution of operational process according to agreed timelines and plans for alignment of deliverables
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives/projects to optimize operation planning performance
- Closely monitor poor performing metrics and work with key groups to identify root causes and appropriate steps for resolution
- Facilitate development of solutions and/or escalate to management
Budget & Resource Planning and Analysis:
- Develop yearly domain budget and ensure execution within allocated budget
- Responsible to ensure resource utilization and operational optimization of capacity
- Monitor and communicate progress on budget and goals. Escalate to management as needed
Network & Business Process Owner:
- Collaborate with other Supply Chain domain owners as well as other functions to accomplish goals and objectives established for Supply Chain or ASM or network
- Ensure that business continuity plans are in place in the domains
- Assume the Business Process Owner role within the warehouse and transportation domain

Qualifications
- Doctorate degree & 2 years of directly related experience OR
- Master’s degree & 6 years of directly related experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree or & 8 years of directly related experience
- 5+ years of people management experience with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Demonstrated track record of people development where direct reports learn and develop their capabilities to enhance their performance and achieve personal or professional goals.
- Demonstrated experience in forming-leading-facilitating-inspiring teams
- Ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders in a cross functional; cross cultural environment.
- Ability to organize and analyze data and information accurately to identify relationships and detect patterns and trends to gain insights for decision making.
- Ability to generate feasible and efficient solutions to solve problems and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Ability to adopt a fresh perspective to combine ideas or information in new ways and make connections between seemingly unrelated fields to create new ideas and bring those ideas to realization
- Ability to formulate objectives and priorities and implement plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization in a global environment. Capitalizes on opportunities and manages risks.
- Demonstrated experience in a continuous improvement role utilizing tools, methodologies and change management (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, Human Performance)
- End to End supply chain knowledge especially in the warehouse and transportation domain.
- Demonstrated experience in SAP/ERP planning environments
- APICS CPIM/CSCP certification would be advantageous.
- Pharma experience would be advantageous.
