Associate Legal Counsel

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. This role, will provide day‑to‑day legal support to all business areas in Brazil, while also contributing to regional legal projects across Latin America. This role requires autonomy, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage a wide variety of legal matters including contracts, corporate governance, labor and civil matters, regulatory inquiries, compliance topics, and data privacy issues.

The position involves significant interaction with internal stakeholders such as Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, Clinical Research, Market Access, HR, Compliance, and external partners, requiring strong communication and organizational skills.

Key responsibilities:

Contract Management & Commercial Support (Primary Focus)

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of commercial contracts, especially agreements with healthcare professionals and event‑related contracts.
  • Analyze contract comments, identify legal risks, and align internally to provide timely responses.
  • Manage the company’s contract lifecycle management system, including monitoring workflows, extracting metrics, generating reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Create, update, and maintain contract templates.
  • Conduct training for affiliate teams on contracting processes and legal topics.

Regulatory, Compliance & Corporate Support

  • Provide broad legal advice to Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, and Clinical Research teams.
  • Assist in responding to regulatory and clinical trial–related inquiries coming from internal stakeholders.
  • Support compliance topics, including confidentiality, anti‑corruption, data privacy, and healthcare compliance assessments.
  • Support corporate governance activities, including management of powers of attorney, corporate records, and legal filings.
  • Handle documentation collection and administrative steps necessary to carry out legal processes effectively.

Labor, Civil & Litigation Support

  • Provide guidance on labor‑related questions in coordination with HR.
  • Support ongoing civil and labor litigation matters as needed.
  • Assist in dispute resolution activities and communication with external counsel.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work in close partnership with internal teams including Medical, Legal, Market Access, HR, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Ensure proactive follow‑up with stakeholders and maintain effective communication across departments.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Law degree and license to practice law in Brazil.
  • 4–5 years of legal experience, ideally within:
    • pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies,
    • law firms specializing in Life Sciences,
    • or corporate legal departments of multinational organizations.
  • Strong experience with:
    • commercial contracts,
    • labor and civil matters,
    • litigation support,
    • compliance and data privacy,
    • regulatory matters in the health sector.
  • Experience with legal operations activities:
    • internal controls, metrics, reporting, dashboards, documentation tracking.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) and conversational Spanish.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
  • High level of proactivity, adaptability, and a positive, solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Ethical, integrity‑driven approach with sound judgment and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to Life Sciences in LATAM countries.
