Thought Leader Liaison Lead - UPLIZNA - East
What you will do
The National IgG4-RD Team Lead of Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs) will lead a team of product and company knowledge experts in developing business strategies that build on Amgen’s reputation and credibility in the marketplace. The TLL Team Lead is a player-coach role, charged with managing a TLL Team, while also building strategic Key Opinion Leader (KOL) partnerships of their own within a specified geography. TLLs will act as disease state and product experts and are responsible for expanding and building new relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). This role will be critical in building advocacy among the thought leader community and galvanizing focus on collaboration internally on KOL Engagement.
This positions scope will be responsible for the execution of the future launch in IgG4-RD. The TLL Team lead is a member of the UPLIZNA marketing team with 5 TLL direct reports, and will report to the Head of TLLs, UPLIZNA.
Responsibilities:
Articulate and communicate a strategic vision for the TLL team that ensures a culture of performance and accountability.
Create and maintain strong working relationships with the medical community. Cultivates Key Opinion Leaders and product advocates in the Academic and Community setting throughout the country and in their assigned individual geography.
Works cross functionally with medical, sales and global to ensure clear and consistent exchange of information and alignment on organizational objectives.
Oversee the creation of commercial KOL Engagement Plans, including plans for the Lead’s own assigned KOLs. Ensure accountability for the execution of plans – including integration with sales, marketing, and leadership.
Maintains an excellent level of product and disease state as well as market and reimbursement knowledge in order to develop strategic business plans that drive KOL Product adoption, loyalty, and Sr. Leadership connectivity.
Leads and motivates the TLL team by defining clear objectives, allocating resources, and monitoring activities.
Identifies and hires top talent and ensures the team has the skills and competencies to be successful in an evolving industry and the therapeutic area by providing ongoing feedback and coaching.
Executes ongoing training for the team to ensure a high level of product and disease state knowledge, large account management, business planning and analysis, presentation skills, and use of marketing tools.
Identifies and assesses business and personnel related issues which may affect a TLL’s performance and provides appropriate coaching and corrective actions to resolve problems.
Assesses human resources continuously and ensure that there are available and ready successors for each role.
Assists in planning, coordinating and executing congress meetings.
Ensures effective and compliant management of all speaker bureau activities and program implementation.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of marketing, sales, relevant clinical or medical experience
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of marketing, sales, relevant clinical or medical experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of marketing, sales, relevant clinical or medical experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of marketing, sales, relevant clinical or medical experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of marketing, sales, relevant clinical or medical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ field sales, product marketing, or medical / clinical experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
Experience in the rheumatology space strongly preferred.
TLL experience, strongly preferred.
Outstanding oral, written and communication skills with the ability to present to small and large groups.
Superior team orientation and ability to influence without authority.
Experience in institutional sales and/or large account selling a plus.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across functions in a complex organization and business environment.
Able to drive multiple tasks, initiatives, and projects simultaneously.
Strong business acumen with keen analytical sense and ability to utilize quantitative analysis and sound business judgment in interpretation of sales and market data to drive strategy
Ability to think strategically and bring innovation to the organization.
Flexibility in leading through change, driving through unexpected challenges to deliver on business imperatives.
Motivated by results, urgency and personal commitment. Possesses high integrity and exceptional work ethic. Fosters mutual trust and respect.

Travel Requirements:
Requires approximately 30% travel, including overnight and some weekend commitments.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
