What you will do
In this vital role, you will be part of Amgen's newest and most sophisticated final product assembly and packaging plant. The Final Product facility will feature best-in-class device assembly and packaging technologies with embedded Industry 4.0 capabilities, while integrating sustainability innovations to reduce carbon and waste as part of Amgen’s plan to become a carbon-neutral company by 2027.
As an Entry Level IS Business Systems Analyst, you will support the analysis, design, and implementation of information systems solutions that enable manufacturing and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with business partners, engineers, and technology teams to gather and document requirements, assist with system testing and validation activities, troubleshoot issues, and provide day-to-day support for manufacturing systems.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, develop technical and business analysis skills, and contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through technology.
Responsibilities include
- Own and support key manufacturing and digital systems within the Amgen Ohio operations and technology portfolio
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance monitoring of manufacturing systems
- Collaborate with delivery, platform, and architecture teams to ensure solutions align with approved standards and guidelines
- Support projects and initiatives including system upgrades, enhancements, and new technology introductions
- Create process flows and diagrams to help visualize current-state and future-state processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Work with business partners to understand how automation and digital solutions can improve workflow, data visibility, and productivity
- Assist in gathering, documenting, and validating business and system requirements from end users and stakeholders
- Support the creation and execution of test cases, test plans, and validation documentation to ensure systems meet business and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain documentation such as SOPs, user guides, process maps, functional/design documents, and operational diagrams
- Learn and apply Industry 4.0 concepts and manufacturing data integrations under the guidance of senior team members
- Participate in cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing and IS
- Provide end-user support and assist with issue resolution in a regulated manufacturing environment
- This position may have limited after-hours or on-call responsibilities, as needed

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
OR - Associate’s degree and 4 years of Information Systems, Business Analysis, or related experience
OR - High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Information Systems, Business Analysis, or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field
- Exposure to manufacturing or industrial systems such as Rockwell FactoryTalk, ThinManager, SCADA, machine learning, or automation platforms
- Familiarity with manufacturing data integrations (e.g., SQL, web services, APIs, messaging)
- Basic understanding or hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Datalake, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience or coursework related to software testing, validation, or system support
- Exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, or digital manufacturing concepts
- Basic knowledge of GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, change control, and validation concepts (training or coursework acceptable)
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems, tools, and technologies quickly
- Any experience supporting or working with computerized systems in a regulated environment is a plus

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
