R&D Medical Data Analytics Program - Grad Intern

What You Will Do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will gain experience generating analytical insights that inform medical strategy and business decisions within the medical affairs analytics group. In this position, you will develop hands-on experience working with real world data, advanced analytics tools and cross functional stakeholders in a fast-paced data-driven environment.

  • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment on business objectives, and to deliver insights and data-driven solutions for business questions
  • Assist in developing analytics to help drive data-driven solutions
  • Support the design and implementation of dashboards and/or data visualization tools to communicate findings effectively.
  • Perform exploratory data analyses and data cleaning, leveraging various data sources (e.g. Real World Data, Publication data), and communicate findings to cross functional business partners
  • Translate complex datasets into meaningful insights and easy-to-understand information.

Basic Qualifications:

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the [internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic programming skills in Python or SQL, or proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and visualization
  • Knowledge or experience with exploratory data analysis, model development and evaluation, data visualization, and presentation of findings
  • Highly motivated with eagerness to learn and adapt to new subjects
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage tasks and timelines to successfully meet project goals and objectives

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $30-$40 per hour
