Medical Science Liaison (rare diseases)


The Medical Science Liaison at Amgen serves as a conduct of information between the company and the medical community. They are responsible for providing disease state and product information to health care professionals and. They also collaborate with sales, marketing, and research teams to implement strategies and initiatives.

Accountabilities

  • Field-based medical expert in the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) group within medical organization.
  • An integral position in communicating accurate, clear, and valued information regarding our science and products to multiple levels within the medical community and are responsible for gathering field insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Building Amgen’s position as a scientific partner in the field of Thyroid Eye Disease (TED), with a particular focus on education on a comprehensive approach to patients with TED, including innovative biologics and targeted treatments.
  • Work across the whole of Poland.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with healthcare stakeholders to educate and communicate clinical and scientific data to advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen’s corporate goals and objectives.
  • Educate and communicate disease state, clinical documents, clinical value and outcomes to key stakeholders.
  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards.
  • Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Execute site engagement plan (including patient’s journey) according to annual MSL goals and metrics.
  • Develop and implement local OL plans, if necessary.
  • Support speaker training as requested and ensure the speakers are updated on existing data and clinical detail.
  • Liaise with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical research.
  • Lead and/or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by MA.
  • Advance MSL value proposition, identify gaps, achieve results, and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen values and leadership attributes. Demonstrate tact and professionalism when communicating and interacting with others.
  • Compliantly collaborate with cross-functional colleagues. May serve as main of point of contact.
  • Maintain clinical acumen and expertise and timely completion of assigned training. May serve as a training lead.
  • May serve as New Hire Mentor and/or International MSL mentor/trainer.
  • Cultivate long term relationships.
  • Ability to easily adapt to new therapeutic areas if needed.
  • Monitoring the latest trends and publications in TED area to ensure the highest level of medical knowledge and support for the medical community.

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree or master’s degree in medicine, pharmacy or related science.
  • Five years of industry experience at a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  • Ability to conduct scientific discussions at the highest level of expertise with KOLs and opinion leaders.
  • Readiness to travel throughout the country.

Preferred Requirements

  • TA expertise in rare disease, immunology, endocrinology or ophthalmology.
  • Experience in medical department.
  • Medical Affairs path included in development plan and some actions already completed.
