WHAT YOU WILL DO
SCRUM MASTER
At Amgen, our mission is to serve patients, and digital platforms like Salesforce play a critical role in enabling our commercial, medical, and patient support capabilities. We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to support our Salesforce Platform Team at Amgen, helping teams deliver high-quality solutions through strong Agile practices, collaboration, and continuous improvement. At this level, the Scrum Master is expected to work independently, apply deep Agile expertise, and influence delivery outcomes across teams while operating effectively within a global, matrixed environment.
This role will partner closely with Product Owners, Salesforce architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of Salesforce capabilities in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Scrum Master for one or more Salesforce Agile teams, ensuring consistent application of Scrum and Agile best practices
Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, delivery discipline, and continuous improvement
Proactively identify, remove, and escalate impediments, risks, and dependencies impacting team delivery
Partner closely with Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness, clarity, prioritization, and alignment to business outcomes
Drive transparency through delivery metrics (e.g., velocity, predictability, burn-downs) and use insights to improve team performance
Support coordination across multiple teams and platforms, including participation in Scrum of Scrums or scaled Agile forums
Contribute to the evolution of Agile practices within the Salesforce platform and broader DTI organization

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree with 4 - 6 years of experience in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR
Bachelor’s degree with 6 - 8 years of experience in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR
Diploma with 10 - 12 years of experience in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or related field
Must-Have Skills:
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Prior experience with Agile project management tools, such as Jira, Confluence and Jira Align
Experience in guiding teams through Agile events and ensuring adherence to SAFe practices and behaviors
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex challenges with data
Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills to work seamlessly in a cross-functional team
Good-to-Have Skills:
Deep understanding of DevOps and Test Automation Processes in software delivery
Workshop facilitation and training experience
Experience working with Salesforce development lifecycles, releases, and platform constraints
Ability to coach and influence teams without authority in a matrixed, global organization
Professional Certifications
Certified SAFe Scrum Master or similar (preferred)
Certified SAFe RTE or similar (preferred)
Certified SAFe STE or similar (preferred)
Soft Skills:
Excellent people and project management skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
Team oriented with a focus on achieving team goals
