Commercial Analytics Senior Associate

What you will do
The Global Commercial Insights team at Amgen plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to Global Commercial leadership, offering data-backed insights crucial for driving global commercial strategy. As a Global Insights Senior Associate, you will assist in delivering strategic insights for various products and pipeline assets in Amgen’s Inflammation and General Medicine portfolio via secondary research and data analytics from multitude of secondary data sources relevant for Global needs and engaging several Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) colleagues to develop an understanding of insights derived from secondary data to provide strategic implications for global commercial deliverables such as brand planning, opportunity assessments, global performance tracking, etc.
The individual in this role must have a consulting-type mindset and be willing to solve ambiguous problems.
Responsibilities will include:
- Participate in the design and execution of secondary data analytics to support strategic decision-making by helping implement solutions, tracking progress, and coordinating results readout.
- Support insights generation in the integration of secondary data sources and collaborate with CD&A colleagues from Global Insights, forecasting, & competitive intelligence to form a unified point-of-view on insights derived from secondary data, develop recommendations, and articulate actionable insights to stakeholders & cross-functional teams.
- Provide analysis using complex data sources including Claims data, Electronic Medical Records, syndicated secondary data sources, etc. to generate a holistic, objective, and detailed understanding of the market landscape, prescribing drivers, and competitor assessments
- Interpret requests from collaborators and provide quick turnaround on analyses to support any critical business needs
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with CD&A colleagues, marketing, value and access, medical, etc., contribute to strategic discussions, and identify opportunities to address business questions via secondary data analytics
- Contribute to the enhancement of the CD&A team's capabilities by researching and implementing new analytical tools, methodologies, and data sources relevant for Global needs
- Collaborate with the broader CD&A organization to integrate comprehensive insights and analytics
- Set priorities, develop and manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously

What we expect of you

Proven experience and skills needed:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics and reporting experience
- OR Master’s degree and 3 years of sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics experience
- OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of analytics sales & marketing operations, finance and/or analytics experience
- University Degree in commerce, finance, economics, mathematics, healthcare or related field.
- Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
Preferred Requirements:
- Familiarity with technologies and applications, and hands-on experience to analyze, synthesize, and integrate various secondary data
- Knowledge in data, analytics, research, and/or dashboarding & reporting approach
- Experience with commonly used biopharmaceutical industry secondary datasets and databases
- Relevant experience in Cardiovascular, Inflammation & Bone health via prior project work, disease area knowledge, marketing/sales experience, etc.
- Capable to identify & define business problem, and address through data, analytics, and research
- Proficiency in turning unstructured business issues into action plans that result in meaningful strategic recommendations
- Ability to drive implementation to enhance methodologies and standard processes
- Strong oral and written presentation skills, with ability to explain complex concepts verbally or visually via PowerPoint / Excel
- Consistently engage and collaborate effectively with cross-functional team to shape brand strategy and understand risks and opportunities
- Evident project management skills—able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and data sources
- Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment
