WHAT YOU WILL DO

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be supporting the Finance Lead in Product Analytics and Insights group. You will oversee all financial aspects of business and drive the company's financial strategy and planning. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic financial analyses and decision support to Product Teams (PTs), Therapeutic Area Governance Teams (TAGs), and Portfolio Governance (PG), enabling informed investment, prioritization, and portfolio optimization decisions.
  • Lead the development of integrated financial narratives, scenarios, and insights that support product strategy discussions, clinical development decisions, and governance reviews across the portfolio.
  • Drive consistency and transparency in product-level financial analyses by creating line of sight across development, commercialization, and business development opportunities, while partnering closely with Alliance Management and Transaction Analysis teams.
  • Serve as the primary finance partner for clinical trial investments, providing forecasting, business case assessments, governance support, and financial oversight throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain global, cross-functional product financial views, including product P&Ls, investment profiles, and value drivers, while providing actionable insights on spending trends, risks, opportunities, and strategic trade-offs.
  • Support external collaborations and strategic partnerships by managing financial deliverables, facilitating information exchanges, and ensuring compliance with contractual and governance requirements.
  • Lead portfolio analytics and scenario modeling efforts to evaluate resource allocation alternatives, investment returns, and the financial implications of key development and commercialization decisions.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across R&D, Commercialization, Business Development, Finance, and Portfolio Strategy to translate complex data into clear recommendations for senior leadership and governance bodies.
  • Identify, develop, and implement analytical tools, dashboards, and reporting solutions that improve portfolio visibility, decision quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to senior executives and governance committees, influencing strategic decisions across the portfolio.

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctorate degree or
  • Master’s degree and 2 years of Finance experience or
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Finance experience or
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Finance experience or
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Finance experience

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA
  • Strong financial analysis skills, experience navigating pharmaceutical company's financial planning process, and experience supporting cross-functional decision making
  • Knowledge of and experience with commercialization processes of pharmaceutical products
  • Excellent communication and English language skills, problem solver, solution oriented
  • Ability to think strategically to support key business decisions
  • Strong collaborator optimally navigates across matrix, experience in leading teams
  • Strong executive presence
  • Flexibility to work with and in different time zones (US)

The expected annual salary range for this role in the posted location is 45,758.00 EUR to 61,908.00 EUR. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

In addition to the base salary, Amgen offers competitive and comprehensive Total Rewards Plans that are aligned with local industry standards.
