What you will do
As the Amgen Capability Center Portugal (ACCP) Finance and FP&A Manager, you will lead and oversee the FP&A support for the assigned regions by managing a team of associates/senior associates who handle budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and reporting for their respective regions. The ACCP Finance and FP&A Manager reports to the Finance and FP&A Lead (Associate Director).
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Finance and FP&A team in:
- Producing timely and accurate monthly forecasts of expense budgets in coordination with country-level stakeholders.
- Facilitating business planning and decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis.
- Managing and tracking expense budgets, latest estimates, and variance analysis.
- Leading FP&A projects locally and participating in broader cross-functional or regional initiatives where needed.
- Driving and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within ACCP, aiming to optimize FP&A processes and deliverables.
- Contributing to a collaborative and growth-oriented learning environment, enhancing team capabilities through improved methodologies and technical tools.
- Coaching and mentoring team members to support their professional development, offering regular feedback and guidance to strengthen both technical and soft skills.
- Providing proactive decision support to various stakeholders, including Business Units, project teams, and functional leads.
- Monitoring ACCP FP&A service quality and stakeholder satisfaction, ensuring deliverables meet agreed-upon expectations.
- Identifying and tracking financial KPIs, and proactively recommending corrective actions when needed.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and external regulations relevant to financial planning and reporting.
- Representing the FP&A team in global meetings, presenting key financial insights and action plans to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team leader with process improvement and communication skills. The candidate will be detail-oriented and results-focused and will have a proven record of problem-solving and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
- University Degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration
- Experience in leading teams in an international and multicultural environment
- Solid background in accounting, budgeting, and financial planning
- Excellent user of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Preferred Requirements:
- Specialized studies in Finance (e.g., Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Controlling)
- Working knowledge of financial systems/tools such as Hyperion, Tableau, Anaplan, or Power BI
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, including reporting standardization, automation, or the use of GenAI/AI agents
- Basic understanding of US GAAP
