What youwill do
The Employee Relations Manageris responsible forconducting HR investigations and providing practicalguidance and support to managers and employees across assigned countries within the EMEA region.
In their investigator role, they conduct thorough, impartial, andtimelyinvestigations into potential breaches of HR policies, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, or other inappropriatebehaviourinvolving employees across assigned countries within the EMEA region.
They also act as a trusted adviser to leaders on a broad range of employee relations matters, including performance management, probation,behaviourand capability issues, disciplinary and grievance cases, workplace adjustments / accommodations, and conflict resolution. They provide practical advice and coaching topeopleleaders on the fair and consistent application of policies and procedures, enabling them to manage employee issues confidently and appropriately.
The Employee Relations Manager reports to the Regional Employee Relations Lead. Employee Relations is aspecialisedHR function that partners closely with people leaders, Compliance, Legal (both in-house and external), and HR stakeholders to protect Amgen’s values, support the fair, consistent and compliant management of sensitive workplace matters in line with Amgen’s culture of respect and integrity.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
Conduct thorough,timelyand impartial HR investigations across assigned countries within the EMEA region, involving employees at all levels of theorganisation. Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to all issues,ensuringinvestigations are objective and respectful.
Prepare professional, well-documented investigation records, including investigation plans, interview notes, and summaries.
Present investigation findings to HR colleagues, Legal partners, and business leaders clearly,concisely, and objectively.
Develop andmaintainstrong relationships with key partners across assigned countries within the EMEA region.
Provide people leaders with expert advice and practical guidance on employee relations matters, including performance management, probation,behaviouralconcerns, disciplinary and grievance issues, and conflict resolution.
Partner with local HR Business Partners to provide counsel on complex employee relations issues and ensure consistency acrosscountries.
Whereappropriate,participatein formal performance, disciplinary or termination discussions with employees and people leaders.
Promote a positive and productive working environment by responding to employee concerns, addressing issues proactively, andadvisingleadership on best practices.
Manage assigned employee relations cases from intake to closure, recording case activity accurately within Amgen’s case management systems, ensuring dataintegrityand contributing to regional reporting and insights.
Support the Employee Relations Regional Lead with the implementation of the regional Employee Relations Centre of Excellence (COE) model across assigned countries within the EMEA region, contributing to the alignment andstandardisationof ER processes and the continuous improvement of practices across the region.
Collaborate with relevant HR, Compliance and Learning and Development partners to design and deliver training on employee relations matters, key HR policies and procedures, and channels for raising workplace concerns, including Speak Up.
Use ER case data and insights toidentifyemerging trends, risks, and opportunities to strengthen workplace culture and manager capability.

What we expectofyou
Minimum requirements
At least five years’ practical experience managing complex Employee Relations casework, including direct experience conducting workplace investigations and advising managers on sensitive workplace matters.
Strong understanding of European employment laws and related HR practices, with awareness of employment frameworks across assigned countries within the EMEA region.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Proven ability to interpret and apply company policy, investigation procedures, and regulatory requirements fairly and consistently.
Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken, is required.
Preferred requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Employment Law,Businessora relatedfield is desirable.
Experience of engaging withworkscouncils, unions, and other employee representativebodies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and project-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and projects, and toprioritiseeffectively whilemaintainingattention to detail.
Capacity toidentifypotential HR, Compliance, or Legal risks within complex casework and escalate appropriately.
Skilled at managing difficult conversations and conducting objective, non-confrontational interviews, while handling sensitive matters with fairness, empathy, and professionalism, anddemonstratingresilience and composure under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement,operateindependently, andmaintainconfidentiality.
Ability to influence and coach people leaders to build capability and manage employee issues effectively.
Experience working across different countries and cultures, preferably within a regional or multinational environment, with a commitment to understanding local employment practices and cultural norms.
Demonstrated change agility and experience supporting process improvement or COEstandardisationinitiatives.
Arabic language fluency is desirable.

The expected gross pay range for this role in the posted primary location (AMGEN Capability Center Portugal - ACCP) is available on the website.
The expected gross pay ranges for this role in the posted additional locations are:
- For Ireland: EUR 67,347 to 91,117. Actual pay will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
- For France: EUR 63,271 to 85,601. Actual pay will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
