COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE MANAGER

WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this vital role you will lead Competitive Intelligence (CI) efforts for Amgen’s US and Global marketing teams, supporting both marketed and pipeline assets within the Inflammation and Rare Disease therapeutic areas.

You will act as a strategic thought partner to cross-functional stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations that inform business strategy, anticipate market shifts, and guide decision-making. Your work will incorporate and synthesize multiple primary and secondary data sources into clear, impactful narratives that shape Amgen’s competitive positioning and commercial success.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Ensure accuracy, relevance, and quality of all CI deliverables while maintaining compliance with Amgen’s legal and ethical standards.
  • Present on a regular basis in-depth analyses and summaries of results as well as communicate findings and strategic implications to senior stakeholders.
  • Organize and facilitate strategic exercises and competitive simulations to generate competitive insights and company plans.
  • Coordinate and facilitate CI collection efforts at major medical conferences/congresses.
  • Support the ongoing development of CI capabilities and processes across the organization.
  • Travel as needed (approximately 15–20%) to support key intelligence activities.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

Our ideal candidate is a strategic, analytical and with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, and deliver clear, data-driven insights that develop strategic decisions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • +5 years of competitive intelligence/consulting/equity research/industry experience.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) with strong presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality insights in a fast-paced setting.
  • Previous mentoring and /or people management exposure.
  • University Degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, healthcare or related field.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in insights generation for the biopharmaceutical (or other healthcare) industries.
  • Proven track record of influencing key business decisions through insights and recommendations.
  • Understanding of at least one other functional area in Customer Data and Analytics (CD&A) (e.g. forecasting, market research, and secondary analytics).
  • Knowledge of Oncology, Rare Disease, or Inflammation therapeutic areas is a plus.
